Solid wood, simple round-profile 0.625'' wide and 0.75'' thick molding with a 0.25'' deep rabbet is covered with a thin layer of gesso and painted black. I tried to find an 11 x 17 frame at a bunch of local stores with no success.

It's not the most interesting frame in the world, but it's solid and pretty, and I don't think you could do better for the money.

I've ordered this frame many times, as well as other sizes from my frame store..they have all been awesome! I use them to frame my photography and hang in my home and it's just wonderful.

The first frame I ordered arrived with the glass shattered (despite the obviously careful packaging). I called the company and they immediately sent a replacement frame, which arrived intact. It's a nice quality frame, especially for the reasonable price, and the company was very professional - easy to contact, very pleasant and handled the issue of the broken item quickly and with no hassle.
