The Plantronics lightweight headset is designed to free your hands while you drive or work with a wireless phone. Though the unit's noise-canceling microphone makes it especially suitable for calls placed over a cell phone, it's also appropriate for use with traditional office phones. Recipients of our phone calls reported no annoying disturbances or distortions during conversation, and audio quality on our end was clear as well, if a bit muffled. The headset works best on phones that feature good volume controls, because the microphone adjust switch raises and lowers the volume in a very narrow range. The M175 also has the nifty feature of converting from a headband to an over-the-ear-style headset. Unfortunately, this also makes for a somewhat flimsy construction. Pieces immediately began falling off the unit as soon as we removed it from its packaging, though snapping the components back in place took little effort. Overall, the Plantronics M175 headset is a versatile, quality headset for those looking for a hands-free way to work with their mobile or cordless phones. --John Frederick Moore Pros:

 Plantronics M175C: Good for Sales October 6, 2008
M175C Convertible Over-Ear/Head Mobile/Cordless Telephone Headset
We use this headset on our Sales Floor and since purchasing it, the chatter and noise from other reps have been eliminated. Also, as a result of no background noise, our sales representatives are able to be properly understood and are able to make more sales. I highly recommend this product, it has solved one of our largest issues in our sales department.

This Plantronics headset has all the required features for someone who needs a professional type headset for home use. It has adjustable volume controls for speaking and listening. It has a good mute button. It has a small adjustable comfortable over-the-head setup with a smaller type ear cover that fits well on the ear & blocks out outside noise. The reception through this headset is excellent. I have it set on the lowest listening volume and it delivers crystal clear reception. I work at home and use a cordless phone with headset to do my job. I work 12 hrs shifts taking calls continuously and this is the best headset I have ever used. And believe me, I have used several different makes & models of headsets. I will probably buy another one as a back up.

I have had no problems with this headset. Before you buy it check with Plantronics.com web site to make sure it will work with your cell phone or cordless phone. I am using mine with a Uniden TRU 6455 phone and it works great but won't work with my cell phone.
These are perfect for the times your spouse goes out of town for a while and you spend an hour getting caught up on what went on that day! It keeps your arm from going to sleep and you can do other thing at the sametime with two hands!
Every one should have one of these and Amazon has a great price.

It is nice that it gives the option to use either over the head or over the ear. The padded speaker cover is comfortable and will not wear out like the foam kind. I used the switch to turn the the mic on and off a lot and has made it much more useful to me.
