I've long used a trackball to save space and I like the feel of it, more control. But with a thumb that was getting balky I needed a different style. This one can be operated by the third and index fingers very smoothly and the scroll ring is wonderful. It has a very natural feel to the whole device.

The trackball itself sits on some superslick plastic glides. The ball moves effortlessly. I have not had this for very long so I don't know if the glides will wear quickly.
The scroll ring is a great idea but implemented poorly. Rather than spend a few extra pennies and putting it on bearings, they have opted to go the cheap way and just let it slide on the bottom of the case. This creates a difficulty for me. The ball moves with the tiniest effort so I calibrate my hand motions to it. When I need to move the scroll ring I have to consciously switch to using a lot more force. Adding to my irritation, the ring turns clockwise more easily than counterclockwise.
The other thing I don't like is the pressure required to activate the right and left buttons. They are just a bit stiff for me.
I prefer a trackball to a mouse and I'll keep this until somebody comes up with a better scrolling mechanism and softer button operation.
In spite of its problems I'm still giving it a four star rating because the trackball feel is superb.
P.S. For those of you who have a Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse, its red marble with black dots fits the Orbit perfectly and looks a lot sharper.

This is the best mouse ever - I actually purchased two - one for home and one for work. This goes beyond the stardard orbital mouse - with a scroll wheel that makes working with speadsheets and surfing the internet a whole lot better! I also like the wrist support piece that was included with the mouse, although I personally don't use it. GREAT product!!

I have three track ball mice and this is the best one. One trackball I have doesnt have a scroll wheel and it is terrible. The scroll wheel around the ball serves an awesome design and would recommend to anyone.
