Not good enough... March 16, 2010 eric wolbrom (Westchester, NY) I have had a number of problems with this unit...
First off the user interface is what I would consider "lack luster" for a product from Panasonic. The menus are not well laid out and are not what I would consider well thought out. For example to get to your caller ID list you need to press the Menu button twice and then the "navigation" button just to get to the first or last item. In most of the other phone I have tried it usually one "click" and your there.
Next, the rings that are available... They are just plain awful! They are all very electronic sounding. I do not understand why they don't have one out of the 14 that is just a plain telephone ring.
There are a number of things missing as well. I have the base unit and 3 "extensions" (4 units total). In my house we use the intercom a lot, I would like to "name" the phones. In every other system I had int he past this was a no brainer. With the KX-TG9382T it is not even possible.
My last comment is about the answering machine. It is just awful. To retrieve while out is just very confusing. I have gotten to the point of just not bothering anymore.
Just my $0.02... Look at other units.
Nice product March 11, 2010 Ron (Houston, Texas) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The phone is exactly as described. I was having a problem with my older phone's cutting out. I believe it was from my wireless internet, and now there is no longer a problem.
Excellent packaging, crystal clear sound March 10, 2010 Steve E. Chapel (Ann Arbor, MI) We recently had an additional two phone lines installed at our house, and they were installed on the same phone jack. I ordered this two-line DECT 6.0 phone anticipating a frustrating experience of having to find the proper splitter with which to split the phone lines onto two jacks. As I unpacked the phone, I found two color-coded phone cords, one of which was exactly the cord we need to plug both lines into one phone jack! After setting up the phone, I was amazed at the clarity of sound on phone calls. We also have had no problem with my wife's BlackBerry Storm interfering with calls. This phone exceeds expectations all around.
Great replacement for my old Panasonic cordless phones. March 9, 2010 Gary D. Mckay I really like the features on this phone. The base unit is much smaller than the previous Panasonic I had and has a cordless phone. Each phone connected to this unit has a speaker phone. The quality of the sound is great.
panasonic 2line dect 6.0 is difficult to use February 23, 2010 J. M. Shanahan (usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have the panasonic installed and am using it. It works great, has a great distance, and is always clear. HOWEVER, it is terrible to do anything but talk on it. To look for caller-id takes at least 3 steps, it does not have a beep for phone messages, I still have not conferenced the two lines because it is not obvious (I have 30+ years of programming experience so I should be able to use it.) My wife was so unhappy with the phones that she had me reinstall the UNIDEN 2 line phone system along side the panasonic. I have entered numbers in the phone book at the base, however to get them to the handsets it appears you need to transfer each one individually. The human interface for this phone is completed unacceptable. I will not buy another panasonic device without extensive research, and then only if a comparable one is not available from another manufacturer.
I am shocked that a company like panasonic would release a product like this, it is terrible to use. mike s.
