| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Panasonic has always been at the cutting edge of Blu-ray technology, but its latest range of players looks to push the boundaries even further. The DMP-BD60 is the entry-level player in the company's latest three-strong line-up - which also includes the step-up DMP-BD80 and the DMP-BD70V Blu-ray/VHS combi (no, really) - and the big breakthrough on these models is the inclusion of Viera Cast functionality, also found on the company's Z1, V10 and G15 NeoPDP TVs.

Panasonic = High quality November 20, 2009 Wolverine (FL) I love this player. Payed much more for it when it first came out but have not had a single problem with it. It stays cool even after hours of use. Picture quality is brilliant and never hiccups. With its standby feature it doesn't take long to boot up. The only thing that is missing is Netflix. Who knows, maybe they can add that in a future firmware update.
Will not play AVCHD correctly November 19, 2009 B Wong (Milpitas, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you plan to play AVCHD disc with this player forget it. Only the play function works, any other function on the remote will freeze the video and you have to start the disc from the beginning. I purchased one of these from Electronics Expo, I try to return the unit but they charge 20% restocking fee plus shipping so the cost for returning the unit is approx. 30% and you have to file a complain to Amazon before they response to your email. At last I kept the unit. The latest firmware still did not fix the freeze issue. My next player will be from Costco.
Updating DVD player November 18, 2009 Mr Fish (Portland, Oregon USA) I upgraded my dvd player to the blu-ray for two main reasons. First cost of the upgraded dvd player was around 80.00 . Second I wanted to get the better picture for my newer plasma screen TV. For a little bit more I was able to get this entry line Blu-Ray player.
It is a bit slower on the start up that my older dvd player. Has much better sound and picture quality. I would say it was worth the upgrade. I have not seen any benefit of the wireless connection yet.
GREAT for the movie! Don't expect for others November 18, 2009 Heng Zhou (San Jose, CA United States) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
For movie only, 5 start.
For audio CD, sound quality is better than any of my other DVD players, even though they are all output with digital!
Cons:
You can't click a number then play that sound. For instance, you click 9 and play, the first sound will be played.
Excellent BD Player for the money November 17, 2009 Ziggy (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent value. Everything works as advertised. The only complaint is the boot time and response time to commands is longer than I would like.
