not so thrilled November 21, 2009 Bonnie Wills this is the first time I have NOT been THRILLED with a new HP 'all in one'. It is not so easy to program.
I bought it because it was 'wireless'......don't know if that is my problem, but I would advise anyone to stay with what they know.
I does everything the last one did.....I only purchased this one because the previous one dropped dead.
Other than that the old one worked better for me.
Worst printer ever November 21, 2009 R. Leet (Anaheim, CA USA) My printer crashed, so I bought this because of low ink usage. I spent over an hour on line with an HP tech trying to get the wireless to work right. The person had no idea how to get it to work, plus he had to have been helping someone else on line, because it took at least 5 minutes between each responce. I finally figured out on my own how to get it to connect to my network and work with my computers. I print alot of card and envelopes. This printer will not work with any of my Card software when it comes to printing an envelope. It just keeps saying I'm using the wrong type of paper. I tried to change the paper type on the printer. That didn't work. I am puting this back in the box and returning it.
Pain to set-up, but worth it (IF you get someone else to do it!) November 19, 2009 RPJ (Boston) I gave this the lowest possible rating for set up! It should be simple. install the software on the pc, and boom! print away! no, this was a complete pain. i was going to send the stupid thing back. a friend more patient than i took over and spent more than an hour messing with it before it worked. but now it is great. i LOVE the two sided printing and the draft mode options! print quality is decent for inkjet, good enough for what i need. but dont waste your money on the inkjet paper sold by vendors. it is basically no different and no better than the regular old printer/copier paper. i havent tried to do photos, where the photo paper obviously can make a big difference. i love the wireless feature, printing from my laptop anywhere in the house.
HP 6500 Wireless Printer November 19, 2009 David A. Newman (Lexington, KY) Purchased this printer to replace an HP All-in-One that lost it's screen. The printer was easy to set up and works well with the wireless network in the house. The fax was similarly easy to set up. I was anticipating problems that didn't occur. It is amazing to be able to sit in the living room and print off documents to be retreived later from the office. I run an engineering firm and have had good experiences with a myriad of HP products including printers, plotters, and calculators.
happy with it November 19, 2009 J. D. cleary (franklinville,nj usa) works well with the exception of intense alignment noise during preperation to print.
