Amazing technology, a must have. No more late fees and video stores. November 21, 2009 I. Singh (San Diego, CA) A truly amazing idea. Keeper. Future of video on demand in making.
A few salient features:
1. Easy installation, took me about 5 minutes to set it up.
2. I can watch movies instantly.
3. I am using netflix movies on demand with this box, using Netgear MoCA technology to bring internet to my Roku box.
4. Lightning fast speeds, blows any other technology in market(especially power line).
5. Video quality is crystal clear HD.
6. Used for a month, not even one glitch, extremely reliable.
7. All this without any new wires, MoCA with Roku makes a great combination.
I wish this technology(Roku + MoCA)gets built into TVs in future.
Great Product; Lousy Content November 18, 2009 Mr. Jeffrey S. Morrison (universal city, tx United States) The Roku works great. The problem is the Lousy Choices offered by Netflix. They have neither current movies or Old movies or TV shows. Just B movies from the Late 90's.
I love Gumsmoke; Netflix has Gunsmoke DVD's; it seems a natural for Roku but NO they do not have it.

This little box is insanely easy to setup and use. We've got ours wirelessly connected to our Apple Airport Extreme with no issues. If you have a Netflix account that supports streaming and a HDTV and haven't bought this item you're seriously missing out on some of the most effortless entertainment imaginable!
Perfect Addition to the Video Set Up November 17, 2009 Brent Bernasconi (San Diego, CA) I bought my Roku player the day they announced it and I have loved it ever since. The addition Amazon Video on Demand was nice to because it allowed me to watch Eureka and Psych (we do not have cable so I miss out on the good SyFy or USA shows). I am looking forward to the addition to the Channel Store and still hoping for Hulu.
The High Definition streaming is nice but you must make sure you have a internet connection of 3.5 mps or faster. I have a 3.0 mps connection and it would stop to re-buffer every 10-15 minutes or so. It was annoying so I stick with the normal quality which is quite watchable and cheaper if buying a TV show.
Highly recommended.
Excellent player for Netflix November 15, 2009 Chetan Sastry (San Francisco CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this produce from Amazon a month back. The product arrived in its original box. It was shipped from the Bay Area so I got it the very next day.
The setup was pretty simple. I connected it to my 720P HDTV. I had to manually set the resolution to 720P in the menu though. It connected to the wireless network over WPA Personal, downloaded an update and restarted. I had to set the wireless settings again. I think it erased the old settings when it updates the firmware.
Anyway, once it was setup, it works amazingly well. The HD movies were in amazing clarity and without any hitches even over a wireless network connection. I have used the player over a month now and I'm completely satisfied with the product.
