This was purchased for my wife as she enjoys music, especially on long walks. The sound quality is much better than we expected. She is not a tech savvy person but was able to operate the ipod within minutes. Uploading the music from our computer was easy and quick. She has no regrets in this purchase.

I purchased this Ipod as my old (but still working well) 30gb unit is full. My new Ipod arrived yesterday, well packed. It was easy to use. The battery was fully charged and the unit was ready to go right out of the box! All I had to do was plug it into my computer and my I-tunes files quickly transferred to the new Ipod with lots of space to spare. I have all my music CD's loaded, but primarily I love the Ipod for books and podcasts, especially for my lengthy commute to work! This unit is similar to the old one but with a much larger storage capacity. I do like the clock on this, a handy and useful feature. The split screen is a bit annoying (I never have cared about what an album cover looks like), but that certainly is not anything that detracts from this Ipod. The earphones are the same as the ones that came with the 30 gb Ipod which are okay, but I seldom use. For me it is easier to get the fm transmitters and listen through the stereo or car radio. Amazon has the best price, and the partnership with Audible makes this a great deal for anyone who enjoys audiobooks! Most libraries now have free downloadable books, but they are big files with 7 day expiration dates, and nowhere near the variety or quality of Audible books. I even have music and stories loaded for the grandchildren which they enjoy listening to when they visit. Another thing I have found my Ipod is great for listening to books through a pillow speaker when going to bed...nothing like having someone read you a story before bed no matter how old you are! As I have only had it 24 hours, I can't speak to the durability, but I have never had a problem with my 3 year old Ipod and don't expect any difference with this one!

I love this product! I have always loved music, and now I can keep my entire collection in my hand! Plus I can store pictures, play games, watch a movie or TV show, this is GREAT! I can make play lists for exercising, or a romantic evening at home.....my surround sound has a dock for it. My Ipod Classic 160gb worked fine for about a year and half and then started pausing in the middle of songs and skipping songs. Then it stopped working all together. I took it to the Apple Store and their options to me were to buy a replacement one for $175 or get a 10% discount on another model. Looks like I have a $200 paperweight now...once the 1 year warranty runs out, your left high and dry.
