I like it! November 24, 2009 Joseph L. Grove I didn't think much of the idea of an e-book when they first came out, but a friend bought a Kindle and raved about it, until I too bou8ght one. I like it very much. I like the idea that I can carry a whole library with me when I go camping or just sitting around the house. I also like the fact that I can buy a new book in seconds without leaving my comfortable chair. And, it is easier to read than a book, mainly because you don't have to deal with two pages at once.
Worth it November 24, 2009 Tenorio (Monterrey, MX) I don't read that often, but Kindle has made my unfrequent readings so much more worth it. The thing about Kindle it's its portability. Kindle books are definetly cheaper than print, but don't expect to save money by buying kindle, printed books are much much cheaper if you consider the price of kindle itself, but confortability is worth the price. And one thing i didn't like was going to the bookstores and not being able to find the book I wanted. Now, there are many book I'd like to have that are not available on Kindle, so, I guess it's a trade off. But overall I'm really satisfied with the product.
Unwanted, unordered Kindle books November 24, 2009 Patricia H. Myers (Oregon) I am being charged for a book I never ordered and do not want on my Kindle. I can find nowhere to correct this situation. What do I do now?
My new Amazon Kindle November 24, 2009 G. W. Klumpp (Amstelveen, The Netherlands) My new Kindle is excellent!
I am impressed by the ease and speed of buying books and subscriptions via whispernet and by the ease of getting my own books/documents into the device (via e-mail).
For the non-native speaker the ease of use of the New Oxford American Dictionary is important. In addition I have bought the French-English Merriam-Webster which can be used in the same way (after changing the default dictionary) for reading French books.
It would be nice if Die Zeit magazine were available for subscription.
The Kindle keyboard (small grey in white), while esthetically very pleasing, is difficult to use for the elderly.
Worth it, love it, better than cutting down trees to read the news November 24, 2009 Dave Sommers The only downside is that I understand that I cannot read ebooks outside of Amazon or its affiliates. Not that I'm going to need more than they offer, except for local news content.
