sweet little tv October 13, 2009 green in NJ Like many, I chose a 26" because it fits in my entertainment system and my budget (the 32" did not). It might have made more sense to wait for prices to come down more (they did) and get rid of the old furniture. I'm borrowing my son's 32" Samsung and there is a big jump in features, etc, when you go to the 32" set - including the level of support Samsung provides. Very interesting! Still, much nicer than the analog set it replaced. HD is lovely.
Very good but breaks fast !! September 2, 2009 Nihilo (Worcester, MA USA) I bought the TV in November 2008 and I used it moderately ...probably less than 200 hours of viewing, mainly DVDs and cable TV ...the TV stopped working after 8 months. The TV would not power on, even thought the power light was on and flickering every three seconds (which it does not under normal circumstances) ...the TV got back to normal the next day, but I still shipped it to Samsung for repair ...we'll see if they find anything wrong with it ...another review had the same problem ...looks like it is fairly common ... luckily, it is still under warranty. It's been in the repair shop for one day, hopefully the turn around time will be fast. However, I don't know if I will buy Samsung again ...you pay a lot of money to have your TV be useless in less than a year !!! Call me old, but my Sears TV bought in 1984 still works great, although it is not really HD ...

Almost exactly one year and one month from the date of purchase, this unit has failed. This means of course that it is not covered by the warranty.
There is power going to the TV but it refuses to turn on; not through the remote and not through the power button on the unit itself. The red indicator light flickers, but nothing happens. No sound. No picture. Nothing. There were times prior to this occurring that I would have to hit the power button twice before the TV came on. Thought it was about the batteries and changed them. Apparently it was not.
I am so disappointed. This TV has gotten very moderate use and there is no reason for it to not work except for some manufacturing defect. I will call Samsung in the morning and see what happens. Given the experiences of other reviewers Samsung LN26A450 26-Inch 720p LCD HDTV I do not expect much, but rest assured I will be updating this review.
Never again.
UPDATE: So it will cost $210 for parts to fix the TV - this does NOT include labour. I cannot see how this can possibly be worth it. Add just the cost of parts to the price I paid in the first place one year ago, and I could have bought a 42 - 48 inch TV, hopefully one without this issue. What a waste of money. I am so over Samsung TVs.
Broke after 4 months. Samsung require you to ship it to NJ for repair.... June 23, 2009 Duckfield (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked this TV quite well until it abruptly broke after about four months very moderate usage (aggressive horizontal flickering transitioning into complete whiteout). Well, that happens - but the truly regrettable part is Samsung's customer service, which as it turns out requires any TV under 26 inches to be shipped to New Jersey for repairs... I would like to add that I live in the Chicago vicinity, which by most accounts would be considered a major metropolitan area that you might think would be supported by a technician or two. Not so.
Good luck trying to get through to Samsung's "Executive Customer Relations" department to which they transfer you when you wish to dispute having to mail your whopping TV to New Jersey. The lines are always busy and you will be on hold until you are told that your call could not be connected and that it will now be ended - "Goodbye". Call reps managers are also not available to be spoken to and emails are never responded to. When you are told that they will call you back in "24 to 48 hours," you are probably being misled. Those calls never happened in my case. I finally found an alternative number to this ironically labeled "executive" service department by Googling it and actually got to talk to a person after waiting for about 30 min. Unfortunately, this person also told me to ship my whopping TV to New Jersey and her manager was not available to be spoken to...
So, if you need a TV that works for more than four months and/or don't live in New Jersey, this is probably not the TV for you.
Great TV May 6, 2009 Arif Mohammad Idris I bought it two months ago. No complaints about it so far. I got a used (like new) and saved a lot. I am currently using it for my PS3 and as a monitor for my laptop. This TV is great for college students esp living in dorms.
