Excellent to keep you safe! March 9, 2010 Carrotop in the Mountains (Georgia Mountains) Within one week of getting his First Alert Radio I was warned of impending bad weather.
The settings are great. You can listen all the time when there is bad weather or only have alerts be heard.
The first one I heard I couldn't figure out what it was, but then I remembered this great little radio.
Very worthwhile purchase.
easy to use February 4, 2010 P. Miller I really like this weather radio. The directions made it easy to set up and it is very simple to use. You can turn off the sound and only listen when you want to. Just don't forget to put the batteries in when you first set it up or when the power goes off you will be scrambling to find some like I did. We tried another brand before this one and never could figure out how to program it, so we really appreciated this one.
I would recommend this. Very satisfied. January 19, 2010 S. Skoda (Western Springs lL USA) The radio was just as described and the directions for operating it were easy to understand. I haven't had an alert yet, but so far I am very satisfied with it. I set it to our local weather station and get an up to date weather report at the touch of a button. I have it set up so that the radio turns on when there is a weather alert in my area. You can also set it to sound an alarm if you prefer.
Stopped working after a year December 4, 2009 S. McDonald (MI) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It was fantastic - while it worked. I particularly appreciated being able to choose which alerts I wanted to receive. BUT for the third time recently I have noticed that the LED no longer lights up when there are alerts/warnings/watches matching the ones I have set it up to indicate. So I have to presume that something has gone wrong inside it, and it is now useless.
Alert Radio November 17, 2009 Richard Tait (Burleson, TX) We have had this for about two months and it really works great. Already been useful during two major thunderstorms...the alerts are great.
