My adapter is for all intents the same as the original equipment that my dog ate. It powers the computer and charges the battery. The main difference I've discovered is the elastic wrap for storing the cords with the transformer is not on the new one. Maybe people were tying their cords too tightly, which was making the cords wear out. All-in-all a pretty minor note. I bought this one because the advertised weight of the unit was closest to the original's. Several of the other "equivalent" units advertised were seriously lighter.

It felt cheap, it looked cheap, and no longer worked after two weeks of sitting on my office desk.

Even though many people think this charger is worth trying because it is a lower price than an original.. IT ISN'T WORTH IT. The quality is not good at all, the cord insullation broke on both of the sides of the power brick within the the first month of using it.
