It works September 22, 2009 Jonathan H. Shaw 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pretty straight forward; arrived in one piece, no damage and it works, although my wife has trouble pulling it to make it go back up, but she has trouble with window shades too so I think that's her issue and not the projection screen.
College Student September 12, 2009 Maxwell Wolfard (Eugene Oregon, USA) I've been using it for about a week now and haven't had nor foresee any problems. It was very easy to mount on the ceiling and easy to operate.
Perfect Solution, Unbeatable Price September 12, 2009 Geoffrey Fortier (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'd held off from getting a projector screen for a long time due to the cost. When this one came up on Amazon I thought there must be something wrong with it, but after some research it was actually a pretty respectable model. It arrived promptly and in perfect. A few things to know...
- This version is meant to be mounted on a wall or ceiling, it is not freestanding. I was looking for the former, so I was totally satisfied.
- It's pretty light. Although I would anchor it into ceiling/wall studs, weight bearing drywall bolts should easily support its weight.
- This product does not include a mounting kit, which is clearly stated. Mounting kits are widely available however, or if you're handy you can mount it yourself depending on your wall/ceiling.
- Screen retraction is manual and can be a little stubborn if you are unfamiliar with projector screens. I assure you it will retract fully and easily once you get the motion down.
- The back is black and very opaque. This is great for preventing light "bleed through" but is not suitable if you intend to use the screen for rear projection.
I mounted my screen on removable ceiling brackets, but it looks so good that I rarely take it down. In the future, I may build a free-standing frame so I can use it outside on occasion. Summer movies on the roof-top anyone? :-)
extremely inadequate packaging June 19, 2009 Alatheia The metal housing for the screen was bent in 3 places due to inadequate packaging. The screen itself was not damaged but the metal case looks like I found it at a garage sale. I would be willing to pay a few more $ for a heavier corrugated carton to prevent damage.
Great Home Theater Screen June 4, 2009 R. M. Hutchins (St. George, Utah USA) This screen is perfect for my home theater.
I used to have a white sheet which I mounted on some PVC pipe (which someone had recommended for a poor-man's movie screen) -- it was a hassle to set up, and the sheet (and, thus, the picture) was, often, wrinkled.
This screen came ready to go. I just mounted it to the top of my K-Mart special entertainment center. Now, I just walk up and pull the screen down, and I am ready to go!
The screen is a good size (6' x 6') for my family room. I've had it a couple of weeks, and I've used it about 10 times. My wife commented on how much better it is than what we used to have.
I suppose you could pay more for a screen, but I don't see how it could be any better.
