Never Buy Toshiba laptop again February 20, 2008 I would have given this Laptop 1/2 star if I could. I bougth this Laptop MX35 in 2005. A few months after, I had problem with the boot up. The system cannot boot up. Since it was still under guarantee. It get fixed, then the system worked but I experienced the poor performance. Seven months later, it cannot boot again. Since one year guarantee has been expired, the estimate cost to fix the reboot problem was about $250. I wasn't sure what to do with this lousy laptop. Then a good news came, I got a notification from the Toshiba that it lost a consumer law suit and offered me to get an extended guarantee for 1 more year. I got it fixed free this time for the same problem. It was in November 2007. Now 5 months later, It failed to reboot, the LCD went blank. I gave up. No more Toshiba Laptop.
DON'T BUY THIS LAPTOP December 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had this laptop now for three years. Within the first 6 months I had to have the motherboard and cpu replaced. Then every six months thereafter I have had to have it replaced, now for a total of 5 repairs where I have been without a laptop for nearly a month each time. There was a class action lawsuit against Toshiba regarding this laptop because of this same issue. If you want to deal with constant failure issues, go ahead, but beware.
RATING OF ZERO WOULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE! October 1, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Toshiba Satellite M35X-S329 15.4" Notebook PC (Intel Pentium M Processor 725 (Centrino), 512 MB RAM, 80 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW Drive)
THIS MODEL IS A LEMON. TOSHIBA IS AWARE BUT HAS REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. TREAD SAFELY.
Pretty bad February 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm surprised to be able to write this online review as this computer has had it's problems. My husband and I have had it for nearly two years but not without problems. First there was the hard drive that decided to blank itself. Luckily we had a years warranty at Best Buy so they fixed it for us. No sooner do we get it back than the screen dies on us. I've been using it with an old Dell monitor for over a year now (we're poor). I actually backed up all my pictures, music and video today because i have the feeling that this computer is going to bite the bullet fairly soon. We're looking at getting an imac of which we've heard only good things.
My advice...there is much better out there for your money, don't waste it on this machine. Oh, and i have the same power problem as the other reviewers. In brief, a piece of crap.
NEW Toshiba warranty - Toshiba will repair your laptop for free December 7, 2006 Toshiba extended the warranty on this model. Starting November 07 2006 you get a full 1 year worldwide warranty. I bought mine 2 years ago in the US and had it repaired in the UK for free as under full warranty. Toshiba replaced the system board and now it's working great. Go to [...], or google for "M35X Setlement". The Toshiba hotline is 1(866) 579-1900.
