BOX SET # 1 August 13, 2008
A few years back I purchased I SPY, Box Set #1, Box Set #2, and Box Set #3. I have watched and enjoyed these episodes for the last few years. I'm a bit confused by these boxes on Amazon for Season One, Season Two, etc. My 'box' says "Box Set #1" where this newer says "Season 1", other than that my box looks identical to the one here at Amazon.
Below are the shows listed on my Box Set # 1:
Disc 1 Affair In T'sien Cha Carry Me Back To Old Tsing Tao Danny Was A Million Laughs A Cup of Kindness
Disc 2 Chrysanthemum Dragon's Teeth No Exchange On Damaged Merchandise A Time Of The Knife
Disc 3 Weight Of The World Tigers Of Heaven Three hours On A Sunday Night Always Say Goodbye
Disc 4 The Barter Turkish Delight Return To Glory The Conquest of Maude Murdock
Disc 5 A Day Called 4 Jaguar One Thousand Fine Grusade To Limbo My Mother The Spy
Disc 6 There Was A Little Girl It's All Done With Mirrors Sparrowhawk Lori
Disc 7 Lisa Trial By Treehouse So Coldly Sweet Will The Real Good Guys Please Stand Up
These 3 boxed sets of mine were issued by Image in year 2000 and encompass the years 1965 through 1968. Up until now thought I had all there was to get, at any rate, I'll stick with these as the color and repro is both sharp and clear.

The Price is Right July 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It's great to watch this show again after so many years. Many of the other shows from the era slid into silliness, but I Spy was a class act. These transfers are not too bad. They are a bit dirty, particularly the (excellent) opening graphics. So, essentially, this isn't quite on par with the transfer of The Invaders for instance. Shadow areas are also a bit crushed. Overall the presentation is nice and is quite pleasant upconverted. The price is what hooked me into buying the first season. No regrets, but I would have paid extra for a real remaster.

To sum it up in a nut shell. Great picture quality, great sound and above all, great fun. If you love the old classic T.V shows, then you owe it to yourself to get I Spy. Well worth it.
GREAT RETRO June 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you'd like to see and hear what was going on in the 1960s, then this is for you. The music, fashions, dialogue, and social comment are a "HERE'S HOW IT WAS" discourse set in a most wonderfully entertaining format. The locales, as well as the photography, are terrific. The asides are classic. Earl Hagen, the dean of film scoring at that time, shows why he was the dean of film scoring at that time in each episode. As we used to say in the '60s, "DIG THIS." ALL That Is I SPY June 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
GREAT NEWS ... I SPY is back again on DVD!! If you didn't pick-up the original set or have always wanted to see this great show from the 60s - now's your chance - and at a great price! I SPY was definitely the coolest and most realistic of the "spy genre" shows on 60s TV. The banter between Culp and Cosby is unsurpassed; the mixture of action/adventure/intrigue and comedy/romance/exotic locations is a joy to watch; plus the amazing music of Earle Hagen, add up to a viewing experience you won't want to miss.
For more on I SPY, be sure to check on THE "definitive" book on the series - "I Spy: A History and Episode Guide to the Groundbreaking Television Series" by Marc Cushman and Linda J. LaRosa (with a foreword by Robert Culp) [...]
... Besides providing a complete and in-depth background and "the Story Behind the Stories," it also includes the real order in which to watch the episodes, not just the way they were broadcast. Everyone connected with I SPY who could be interviewed - was - including writers and production staff, and even censors' reports are included. A really great book for anyone interested in I SPY who wants to know the complete story. And come check out the "I SPY FORUM" too - [...] - where fans of I SPY share all things "I SPY" everyday...
