Amazon.com Most kids know that a step into Arthur's world feels good. They can relate to the endearing aardvark with the oversized glasses. He alternately loves and loathes his pesky sister, D.W., and struggles with common childhood dilemmas and insecurities. The engaging stories, which focus on a group of friends during their third-grade travails, have been made into a hit television series based on the best-selling books by Marc Brown. Here, three 15-minute episodes take a humorous, yet respectful, look at childhood fears--from spooky stories to nighttime noises--in an effort to embolden young viewers to face their phobias. In "Night Fright," Binky Barnes is afraid of the dark, but he's even more fearful that his friends will find out he sleeps with a nightlight. When Arthur discovers Binky's deepest secret, their friendship is put to an important test. In "What Scared Sue Ellen?" Arthur and pals get a case of the jitters when they hear an eerie noise in the woods. With friends rallied in support, Sue Ellen summons all her courage for a scary showdown. Lastly, "The Fright Stuff" brings together spooky pranksters just in time for a "Scare Your Pants Off" costume party. In a boys-against-girls battle of wits, Arthur and friends realize that even practical jokes have limits and can come back to haunt you. Arthur should score for children ages 4 to 8. --Lynn Gibson

Great Movie December 13, 2000 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Night Fright is the third best in the movie,What Scared Sue Ellen and The Fright Stuff are both great, especially when in the Fright Stuff,Arthur,Buster,Muffy,Francine,Binky, and the Brain preparing practical jokes! The Fright Stuff teachs how practical jokes can come back to haunt you,Night Fright shows that even the most embarrasing thing, can be very normal. What Scared Sue Ellen shows how even the scariest thing may scare you,but it may be just a dog howling.Overall,a very great movie.I would recommend it.
