Product Description Bluray Disc
Amazon.com essential video Rambo meets Alien in this terrific science-fiction thriller from 1987, directed by John McTiernan just a year before Die Hard made him Hollywood's most sought-after director of action-packed blockbusters. Arnold Schwarzenegger leads an elite squad of U.S. Army commandos to a remote region of South American jungle, where they've been assigned to search for South American officials who've been kidnapped by terrorists. Instead they find a bunch of skinned corpses hanging from the trees and realize that they're now facing a mysterious and much deadlier threat. As the squad is picked off one by one, Arnold finds himself pitted against a hideous alien creature that's heavily armed and wearing a spacesuit enabling the creature to render itself invisible. The title says it all in describing the relentless, escalating action that follows, maintained by McTiernan with an abundance of visual flair. The film's special effects are still impressive, and stunning locations in the Mexican jungles create a combined atmosphere of verdant beauty and imminent danger. The plot doesn't hold up to much scrutiny, but the movie's so exciting and tightly paced that its weaknesses seem irrelevant. --Jeff Shannon

Movie is Great - No need 4 blu-ray though March 15, 2010 Andrew Voight We all know Predator is a great movie, but let's face it, the video quality is only as good as the original format.
Just Get the DVD or digital download instead of spending more on Blu-ray.
Buy the 2-Disc DVD instead. March 5, 2010 Jeremiah Johnson (Meatspace) I picked this Blu-Ray up for $10 thinking I was getting a good deal. Turns out the old addage, "you get what you pay for" rears it's head again in this case. Predator on Blu-Ray actually looks WORSE than the 2-Disc DVD upscaled through my BD player. Oh, and they also cut most of the special features for the Blu-Ray. So just to recap, 2-Disc DVD looks better, has more special features, and costs the same (or less). Don't be a sucker like me and stick to the DVD for now.
Predator Is Just A Great Alien Character! February 27, 2010 Khaled Altaher (Riyadh, NA Saudi Arabia)
A special army forces team head to the jungle at a rescue mission and defeat one opponent army unit magnificently. On their way back, they are faced with the Predator, an alien that got attracted to all the action that was going on with them. He hunts them one after the other and finally gets to Arnold.
I just love the superiority of the Predator character. In this movie he hunts down the army, and in the second he hunts down the police.
predator bluray movie February 24, 2010 G. Sampson (easton, MD. United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I find that movies not recorded in bluray in the theater tend not to look as good as movies made in the bluray format from the beginning, not a big difference between dvd's and a dvd re-recorded in the bluray format. that's just my opinion.
Predator on Blue Ray not recommended February 18, 2010 T. Harper (VA) While the movie is great I do not recommend the Blue Ray version. I have the movie Predator on DVD and thought the Blue Ray version would be a great improvement and also have extras. I was disappointed on both points. The vidio quality has no discernable improvement over the DVD and there are no extras (deleted scenes, actor commentaries etc.). I would not recommend this Blue Ray. After watching it once I gave it away.
