Pilates combines isometric exercises and limbering stretches that encourage increased strength and flexibility. Body Power Pilates illustrates the practice of Pilates in an easy-to-follow format. Instructor Suzi Lonergan leads this 40-minute workout with clear demonstrations and concise cueing. This program includes two sessions: a 15-minute basic application for beginners and a 25-minute intermediate set for more advanced students. Participants will find a workout to suit their distinct fitness level with the variation of intensity and difficulty offered by these two programs. Pilates terminology is explained and used throughout this video. Terms like "powerhouse" and "the frame" help students gain a better understanding of correct body alignment and add to the authenticity to this application. The core muscles of the abdomen get some intensive training here and the movements are quick and controlled. Suzi Lonergan's Body Power Pilates! Shaping Your Body Into The Best It Can Be is an exercise video featuring four variations for each exercise presented: one for normal healthy fitness buffs; one for those with a bad neck; one for those with a bad back; and one for those with bad knees. Enthusiastic and expert instruction by Suzi Lonergan (a certified fitness professional in the Pilates Method of Body Conditioning), adds an appealing dimension to this "user friendly", 40-minute, full color workout featuring 9 basic and 23 intermediate exercises for promoting health, posture, flexibility, joint mobility, strength, and overall energy level and self-confidence.

I love this tape. This woman and her pilates instruction is the best. I have tried a few different real live pilates instructors over the years but none have been as thorough as this lady is on this video.
I travel quite a bit for business and this tape is invaluable when I'm in a hotel room with a limited time schedule.
The way she explains the individual moves is very easy to comprehend and it always makes me feel like I can do the moves without having to be a super-hero.
A friend recommended this video to me and I eagerly await a follow-up tape because I am addicted to this one.

I have been using Suzi Lonergan's video for 18 months.What a great routine! It is comprehensive yet easy-to-follow; in only 20 minutes you get a basic substitute for an actual, "live" Pilates session. I highly recommend it.

I haven't been able to exercise in ages until now. As a former competitive skier I suffered numerous knee injuries. Thanks to a dear, dear, friend who sent me this tape and a matt as a gift, I have been working out with no further injury. This tape is a gentle reminder that although our bodies are not what they used to be, some of us can still stay in shape with a non-agressive approach like pilates.
