Anna Netrebko-The Woman,The Voice July 30, 2009 Ali Hassan AYACHE (São Paulo, Brasil.) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
O vídeo Anna Netrebko -The Voice, the Woman apresenta a grande cantora em 5 vídeos musicais.

This is just what it appears a self-confessed documentary. June 28, 2009 bernie (Arlington, Texas)
Anna Netrebko gives her views on what music is all about and what she's trying to accomplish. It would not be so bad if they didn't give it in sound bite format or we get little bits of this and little bits of that out of order. This film also has tidbits here and there of fluff that are just fillers not necessary and distracting.
On the other hand and it is a great opera singer and the few snippets that she does or sing she does very well. Also a plus is that she can say in a few sentences what takes other people books to describe what she is about to sing.
The five music videos excerpts from:
2. Giacomo Puccini's "La Boheme" "Quando me'n vo' (Musetta's Waltz)"
3. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Don Giovanni" "Crudele? - Ah no, mio bene! Non mi dir"
4. Vincenzo Bellini's "La Sonnambula" "Care compagne, et voi, ternei amici"
5. Antonin Dvorak's "Rusalka""Mesicku na nebli hlubokem" (Song to the Moon)
This DVD really should be just the extras on her other DVD's
Verdi - La Traviata
The Incomparable Anna Netrebko January 26, 2008 Robert C. Herber (Moorestown, NJ USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Anna Netrebko - The Woman, The VoiceThis DVD is the first "opera music video" ever made, and so far the only one, so it cannot be compared to anything. And neither can the incomparable, sensational Russian soprano, Anna Netrebko. She's the best thing to happen to opera since the 19th century. Well, you have to admit that Verdi, Donizetti, Bellini, Mozart, Massenet, Tchaikovsky and Gounod, and Puccini in the early 20th century, were pretty important to opera, also. I hope Ms. Netrebko and Vincent Paterson have another opera music video in the works!
what a waste December 27, 2007 bach lover 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
i bought this on impulse and wish i had read reviews first. i squirmed with embarrassment through most of this sophmoric video. any pretty woman with no talent could have lip-synched these tasteless, vapid videos. but we have a first-rate charismatic soprano filling in for her own magnificent voice. i hope she does laugh about this someday, but i couldn't help feeling that someone should have advised her against this venture and, as old-fashinioned as it sounds, protected her image. i also felt annoyed that i paid so much for this cheesey video and fell for the deutsche grammophon label.
Netrebko the Actor December 25, 2007 masaccio (Nashville, TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this because it showcases something about Netrebko that shines through her performances: her fearless acting. I saw her in Romeo and Juliet from the Met on the big screen and was riveted by her skill at the physical part of the role. There are many beautiful voices, and she has one, but few opera singers with her talent as a physical performer. I like Roberto Alagna, who sang Romeo, but compare his acting with hers: he's a stiff, pulled into some semblance of acting by her power. These music videos demonstrate her enormous skill and range as an actress. So do the bonus tracks, especially the Gergiev. One in a generation.
