It was fine when it worked. A little over a year after purchase, it started flickering at start up. After about 20 minutes of flickering it would finally pop on. I exchanged it with another monitor on another computer in my house to make sure it wasn't a video card issue. It wasn't; the problem followed the monitor and the other computer's monitor worked fine on both computers. After two or three weeks of this, it finally just quit altogether. As I type this, it's sitting in a trash dumpster, having been replaced with a new Dell. After this experience, I don't think I'll be buying anymore Samsung monitors. I give it two stars only because it gave me one year of good service before it gave up. It's not a very expensive monitor, so I guess you get what you pay for. I bet most of the good reviews here just haven't had the monitor long enough for it to fail yet. But I definitely expect more than a year out of a monitor. Is that asking too much?

Bought this Samsung July 2008; 3-year warranty. 1 year and 2 days after purchase the screen starts flickering. Within a week it wouldn't display a picture at all-- backlight was gone (I was told). Sent to NJ for repair; turn around time was good (10 days). 4 months later? Same problem. My busiest time of year and I have to send this is again for the same problem?? I'm being forced to buy another monitor to fill in for when the Samsung is dead. But I won't be buying another Samsung. I gave away my 8yo H-P last week. What timing, huh?

This monitor is truly amazing for the price. Extremely sharp, especially when coupled with a DVI video card. Purchased one for my wife to replace an older 19" flat panel she was using and made big points on the home front!
I would strongly recommend this unit for gamers also. Colors are very focused and vivid, response time is so low I have seen no latency whatsoever, even in FPS games.

I bought this monitor as a refurbished unit and I didn't spend a lot of time on it research-wise. I can say that the monitor picture is great, the monitor is not bulky in form at all, and I'm very happy with the value and price I got on this purchase.

Received it THE NEXT DAY after I ordered from Amazon. Very easy to set up- has holes to be aligned and a simple tab to turn on bottom to secure it. Brilliant colors, great matte screen- I plugged it in to a Macbook Pro 15" and it worked out of the box.
Highly recommended.
