This is an absolutely great monitor for the price. It's very big, clear and crisp. I play a lot of video games and the monitor keeps up perfectly. It was an easy setup, no problem.
The speakers don't really add to the package. I tried them out and they sounded hollow and nothing special.
The one downside is the vertical viewing angle. Just by adjusting the height on my chair a little bit the brightness will change severely near the top and bottom of my monitor. With this kind of change depending on the vertical viewing angle, a more adjustable stand would have been nice. Instead I find myself adjusting my chair to get the right brightness. That's the only thing that stops this from getting 5 Stars.
ASUS VW246H 24" LCD Monitor November 7, 2009

Easy to set up, great picture, very flexible, and you can't beat the price! I'm using this as a 2nd monitor with the ASUS VK246H 24" LCD Monitor. I use a Dell docking station with a Dell Precision M6400 laptop using DVI connections.
I also have a Dell Dimension 5100C (PC workstation) connected separately with a VGA connection (all wiring included). I can switch screens back and forth at the touch of a button (easily going from work to play)!
The picture has only become fuzzy 3-4 times in the past month, always when I'm using both screens and trying to access or run a GoToMeeting. This may be an issue with the GoToMeeting software (or my Dell docking station), and not the monitors. A restart has cleared the picture every time. Other than that, I have been extremely pleased with the monitor!

I just bought a second one of these for a dual monitor set-up. Great picture, right out of the box. I can't find a single thing to complain about, and that's unusual for me. Oh wait, the circular base is grooved like an LP and will collect dust.
You can't beat the size/price/performance envelope on this thing.

arrived 4 days after vendor rec order...with was 3 days after id ordered..so a week on delivery from purchase not to bad for free shipping
box/monitor in perfect condition (thank you fed-ex and Amazon)
no dead pixils very nice viewing auto screen centering
very light compared to my 40lbs 17" i replaced (soo glad to get the big "thing" off my desk...nows its on the floor ..my new foot rest..)

As a photographer, the color and crispness of a monitor is very important and the Asus has delivered. After using this product for a few months, I can say I'm very pleased with the results. The color, crispness, and speed of the monitor is extraordinary and has worked perfectly with my 15" MacBook Pro since day one. My only complaints, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, centers around three dead pixels that have developed and the lackluster sound produced by the monitor. I didn't expect the sound to be stellar, after all it is an external monitor, but there was notable static when played through the monitor's speakers that I didn't get when played directly through the MBP. 3 Dead Pixels on a screen this large is nothing and I barely even notice them anymore; however, they are there which is disappointing for a brand new monitor.Bottom line, if you are looking for an external monitor with great color and a fast refresh rate the Asus is a good choice for you.
