AMAZING! simply... amazing... October 9, 2008 I was sceptical about this keyboard, especially when i read some of the negative reviews (I always take them into consideration first) and so when it arrived i held it, and just the size and feel gave it 2 stars. I let it charge overnight and the next days when i begain to type with it I was instantly happy with my purchace.
The keystrokes are perfect, i can type faster, and don't ever remimber second guessing myself while typing. The keyboard is thin and light, so when i go to eat i can easily move it, eat, and move it back, it has to be one of the most convienent features about this keyboard.
I don't use many of the other features, but for someone who needs a number pad, or uses the play/pause/forward/backward buttons, this could be tedious, as you have to press the inconvenintly placed fn button followed by one of the F buttons to access it.
I recharge it every week just to be safe, but it has never even indicated that it was anywhere near running out of batties. this baby can hold a charge.
I have no problems with it, but the price is a bit steep and there are some features that might aggrovate some other people, which takes a star away.
diNovo Keyboard - not bad, but not Oustanding either October 9, 2008 Got the keyboard, it looks amazing. I set everything up and installed the software. When I placed the keyboard on the stand, the lights on the keyboard came on, but then the battery indicator started flashing red. I just figured the battery was low and would charge over time. I then started checking out the Logitech software (SetPoint) and discovered that the battery had an error and would not charge. I called Customer Support and was sent another one. After checking the internet, this seems to be a common problem.
As far as my review, the keyboard works well. It has NO number pad - would be outstanding if it did! The issue with the battery highlighted a problem I see - the battery is NOT replaceable. The problem here, I have had batteries fail, yes even Li-ion that this keyboard uses. So, if the batteries fail, the keyboard is dead. It would have been real nice if the batteries were accessible to changing, just in case they do fail.
Good quality but a few quirks October 7, 2008 I have been using a BTC 6100C Ultra Slim Multimedia Keyboard. I have a relatively small desk surface, never use the numeric keypad on a keyboard, and so I appreciate the small footprint of these mini keyboards. I tend to scrape off the lettering from the BTC key caps, though, and wanted to find a better quality replacement. The diNovo Edge fits the bill. It is slightly larger than the BTC, but still smaller than a full-size keyboard.
I use the keyboard with Fedora 5. Surprisingly, everything works except the volume slider and mute button. I'll be upgrading to Fedora 8 soon, so maybe they will work, too. One criticism I have is that the touch pad does not seem very responsive. Sometimes it doesn't even seem to respond at all. I don't know if that's a Linux thing or inherent in the keyboard design. Also, the mouse buttons could have been placed better. They would have been more convenient if moved to the left a bit so that they would fall directly underneath the thumb when the index finger is on the touch pad.
Awsome Keyboard October 6, 2008 Pros: Great keyboard!! Easy to install. Very light and power lasts forever with a single charge.. It is a nice looking and stylish keyboard...Cons: Touchpad needs to ba a little more sensitive on the tapping part, or the software needs to incorporate a tap sensitivity adjustment.. other than the numbers pad is missing that I rarely use its worth every penny !!!!!!
Slim and Responsive October 5, 2008 After researching for a while, I decided to try my luck on this relatively expensive keyboard. First of all, it is slim and small, which saved a lot of space on my desk, especially I have a number of docs around and want to write something. Second, the battery and charging system is nice, I could left it without charging for a month and do a overnight charge to make it work for another month or more. After using it for 6 months, the battery cap is still nice. Third, in terms of typing, the keyboard is *responsive*, without much movement of my figures, I feel my typing well confirmed. One last good of this keyboard is when I want to set up a new machine, I could use it as a set up kb with both kb and mouse. I never met any compatibility issue, without any driver, this works for my DIYed work station, a mac mini, dell as well as HP.
Nothing is perfect, so as this expensive keyboard. For an excel user, I bet you do not want it - no digit kb available. Personally I prefer to use a separate mouse, thus the touch pad on my right is something less preferred - occasionally my palm touch it when typing and my cursor runs away at a click - that's not good. One can turn the keyboard off by Fn + left click, but one has to do this every time power on the machine.
