Mobile Edge Mini Messenger bag November 12, 2009 Donna J. Miller (Danville, WV) I love the laptop bag. I got it for my Acer mini laptop, 11.6" screen. It has a lot of storage and well padded. A friend likes it so much that I'm ordering her one for Christmas.
Nice bag October 11, 2009 Joseph A. Young Good size for a netbook case, durable and plenty of sleeves for other things. Best for netbooks, i wouldn't try it with a regular laptops
Perfect Bag for my 10 inch Netbook September 8, 2009 Spyder2000 (MI USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have been using this bag with my MSI U123 netbook for about 3 months now and am an IT professional. Finding a bag small enough for this 10 inch netbook, the power cord, mouse, and most of the things that you would normally find in a computer bag was harder than picking out the netbook itself. The bag manufactures must think that netbooks are just a passing fad or something. But I have found is perfect, small, light weight all the pouches are all very smartly designed. Did I also say that it is built in a very solid way, nothing cheap in the feel or look of this bag, including lots of padding for the most important passenger. My bet is that it could hold a 12 inch screen, so my 10 inch does slide a little from side to side, but I needed a bit more space than the average 10 inch because I have a 9 cell battery and not the stock 6 or 3 cell. You will find that a standard sheet of paper or a thin magazine will not fit in this bag, but you were not looking for a big bag anyway. The only issues that I had with it were the side pouches and the elastic Velcro strap inside. On one side you have a small draw string pouch that can hardly fit a can of pop or the smallest diameter water bottle. Another half inch of material may have expanded this to fit most water bottles and even a standard 20 Oz bottle of pop. On the other side is a pouch that is a bit big for a wireless mouse and too small for the power cords, so in my case the little pocket is empty all the time. The strap on the inside really is just in the way on my computer and anything larger, it sticks to everything in the bag and does not seem to help keep my computer from moving around much. In general these weaknesses are really petty when looking at the bag in its entirety, and were meant only to give the manufacturer something to improve on. My satisfaction of this bag is 10 of 10, but the manufacturer has a small bit of R & D to do.
I love it! August 6, 2009 Blue (Indiana) I bought this bag for a Samsung NC20 netbook with a 12 inch screen. It works great! It's the perfect size for a 12 inch screen laptop/netbook. The netbook fits in snugly and is well padded and protected.
In my opinion, the bag is very well designed. It sturdy. Plus, it has numerous compartments that are just the right sizes for items such as power cord, external CD drive, cables, office supplies, cell phone, etc.
My only complaint is that the water bottle holder is too small. It seems to be designed for a 12 oz. soda can and even that is a tight fit.
My bag came with both a shoulder strap and a handle. As some reviewers have said, the shoulder strap is not padded. However, the strap is broad. I don't find the lack of padding to be an issue. Even when I fully load the bag, it only weighs 7 pounds and that's comfortable to my shoulder without padding.
Although this bag is advertised as being able to fit a 14.1 inch screen laptop, as other reviewers have said, the bag is too small to fit this size. I have a 14.1 inch HP DV2000 laptop. There's no way it will fit--it juts out over an inch. I think that the Mobile Edge Mini Messenger bag will also be too small for some 13 in. laptops. But, it's perfect for my 12 inch!
Surprise Upgrade July 28, 2009 Robert Donoghue (Columbia, MD) I got this for my netbook (HP Mini) and the size worked out just right. It's small enough to feel compact, but big enough to carry cables and a larger notebook or book along with other odds and ends.
As a pleasant surprise, it seems they've listened to feedback, and mine included a handle on top. It's a strap, so it's thin profile, but it's got a decent gripping surface. Given that the lack of a handle was the basis of my one point of hesitancy in buying this, it was a pleasant surprise.
Sole complaint is that the water bottle pocket is a little small - no shock, but I'll need to hunt for a bottle to fit in it.
