Love it. August 9, 2008 This is my second wireless mighty mouse. One for my Mac Pro, and recently picked another one up for my MacBook Pro. They take a little while to get used to, especially when right clicking but once you grow comfortable with it, few mice can compare. Sure, I wish there were more buttons, but it's precision and ability to scroll smoothly, precisely and quickly more than make up for it. And the battery seemingly lasts forever.
Brilliant... until it breaks August 7, 2008 The Apple Mighty mouse (in both USB and wireless formats) is a worthy contender for the best mouse ever made. In particular, its tiny hyper-sensitive vertical & horizontal scroll button genuinely speeds up on-screen "productivity" to a level that, once you've got used to it, nothing else will do. Brilliant, that is until the scroll button stops working which in my case is about every 9 to 12 months. Bad news then... well yes, no piece of kit should do this, but right or wrong that's the way it is and when it happens I happily shell-out for a new one because it's that good to use. Look on it as the world's best disposable mouse and you won't be disappointed...
Works very well...for a while. August 3, 2008 I purchased my Mighty Mouse with my MacBook Pro over a year ago. The mouse worked great and didn't give me any trouble for the first several months. But one day I booted up my computer to discover that the scroll ball would no longer scroll down. I looked online and discovered that this was a common problem for the Mighty Mouse, and it could be fixed by turning the mouse upside down and running the scroll ball along a piece of paper. To my surprise, this actually worked, and the Mighty Mouse was scrolling just fine again. From that point on, however, once a week or so, the mouse would stop scrolling down again, and I'd have to repeat the scroll-fixing technique. Pretty annoying. Eventually the mouse stopped scrolling upward, and would only scroll downward, and no amount of turning it upside down and scrolling it on a piece of paper would fix it. I also tried meticulously cleaning the scroll ball with iKlear Apple Polish to no avail.
Pro's +It's sleek and looks very good next to a MacBook or MacBook Pro. +Completely wireless. +Connects easily and quickly via bluetooth. +Works perfectly until the scroll ball decides to stop working.
Con's -Pricey at $69.00. -Scroll ball has a tendency to stop working after several months of use, and this seems to be a common problem among many who own this product.
Buy another bluetooth mouse for your mac July 30, 2008 I'm not satisfied and completely disappointed. I don't recommend Apple Mighty Mouse to any user. I bought another mouse for my MacBook and Mac Mini. Instead of this mouse I recommend Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks - White
Pros - Apple logo and design
Cons - Not so ergonomic - Frequently the scrolling ball doesn't work properly. Especially in upper direction. - Expensive - Low battey life
Would be a great mouse, but for its poor scroll ball reliability July 25, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
New, out of the box, this is a great mouse. The design is simple yet elegant: it functions very well...for a few months that is, until the scroll ball gets dirty (and it will get dirty). Once that happens, the mouse is done. The scroll sensation begins to feel rough and gravelly under your finger, and scroll sensitivity becomes intermittent and unpredictable. Apple suggests various techniques for cleaning the ball, but none of them are effective. So, if you don't mind forking over $70 for a new mouse, say, every four to six months, by all means get a Mighty Mouse. You'll love it while it works.
