Pretty good October 6, 2008 It's been a month or so since I got this mouse and so far it is doing pretty well. It is quite accurate and smooth. Also fits well in my palm. On the whole - a good purchase.
Excellent Mouse September 30, 2008 So far so good. I use this mouse on my Mac and Compaq laptops and it works flawlessly on both. Highly recommended.
Navigational Ease and Comfort September 23, 2008 The Logitech MX 400 Performance Laser Mouse is by far an ergonomically superior tool. The design is intended for normal positioning and comfort of the hand, reducing pressure to the carpal region of the wrist. Users may navigate with ease and speed using buttons, wheel, and a tilt of the mouse. Highly recommended for users with carpal tunnel issues.
Good Mouse Overall September 13, 2008 The overall design is fairly ergonomic and after using it for several weeks now, I like it a lot better than the Apple mouse it replaced. The scroll wheel also pushes to the left and right, perfect for the column view in Mac OS X. Lastly, there's no bright red laser (it's invisible) - so I don't have to worry about my small children walking up and staring into the light ;)
Two major drawbacks August 27, 2008 This mouse has a nice ergonomic design and high resolution, but has two significant problems. The first is that the laser tracking system is easily affected by hair. Not a big deal if you don't have pets that shed, but if you do, it will cause problems and you'll need to be vigilant about keeping your desk clean. The second problem is that the tilt scroll wheel is too hard to use as a third button. I don't have the drivers installed, so it's only used as a third button, and it's already hard enough to push it just right to activate it (and sometimes I inadvertently end up right-clicking, too). I don't even want to think about how aggravating it would be to try to use it with the tilt wheel function active. I highly recommend the MX310. Its only real drawback is that it has a symmetric design, so it's not as comfortable as the MX400, but its LED tracking system is rarely affected by hair and its scroll wheel is easy to use as a third mouse button. If I had a choice now I would take the MX310 over the MX400.
