Avoid This Piece Of Garbage September 5, 2008 I'll admit that I didn't fully research this product, or else I would have avoided it. As with many many people who left reviews here, the keyboard function basically just stops working for no reason. The only way to get it working again is to reboot both computers, and then you are lucky to get it connected for more than 5 minutes. There should be a class action suit against Iogear for knowingly putting out this garbage.
IOGEAR KVM -Simple, easy, works great August 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've only had the IOGEAR GCS632U for a few weeks, but this unit worked great right out of the box. A buddy of mine has used one at work for several months and has had no problems. Great KVM unit for the price.
IOGEAR Micro USB PLUS KVM with audio and cables August 27, 2008 I have a Dell 8300 dimension desktop computer with dual 19 inch monitors running windows XP home edition and a Dell laptop XPS 1500 running Windows Vista. My laptop is used mostly for acedemic purposes but when I am at home I love the convenience of plugging up to the IOGEAR and a simple double tap of the scroll lock button to switch my laptop to one of the dual screens on my desktop. The sweet thing is all of this was just plug and play. There was absolutely nothing special done to configurating its operation. Another neat feature is my desktop does not even need to run if all I want to do is use my laptop. All I need to do is turn on one of my monitors. You can also set it up so you can use one screen or two simultaneously. One last thing that I like, is to be able to listen to my ITunes or watch a movie on my desktop while working on my laptop as I am doing right now! How sweet is that? I must say that I will have to give this a thumbs up. The only thing I have not tried is the audio cables because I simply do not need to use it.
had to return two August 23, 2008 I returned the first thinking it was broken, but the replacement had the same problem. When the computer (running vista) goes to sleep it looses the mouse. I had to reboot to find the mouse. I will not buy again.
Great price...works like a champ!! August 8, 2008 I needed a kvm switch to switch between my laptop and my desktop, so I ordered this unit on a Wednesday, it was delivered on a Friday and had it installed and working in about a minute. It is a very simple device to use, no instructions required, and so far it works flawlessly. Changing between computers is done very easily by pressing the "ScrLk" button on the keyboard twice.
I would recommend this product.
