Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Milagro De Los Santos is having serious problems planning her wedding to fabulous Oswald Grant, M.D. Her future in-laws loathe her, her dog just died, and Oswald's family has a genetic anomaly that makes them crave blood. Then her extravagant best friend hijacks the role of wedding coordinator, and the secretive Vampire Council assigns conniving Cornelia Ducharme to guide the couple through the ancient vampire marriage rituals.

To top it all off, Milagro's career is on the skids. She's reduced to ghost-writing the memoirs of a loony little man who claims to be a shapeshifter. And why does Cornelia's decadent, way too attractive brother, Ian, always show up whenever Milagro is away from Oswald? When a series of accidents interferes with wedding plans, Oswald worries that Milagro is cracking under the pressure. Is she just paranoid, or is a hidden enemy trying to make sure Milagro doesn't wed the undead?

4 out of 5 stars The Bride of Casa Dracula   December 30, 2008
Milagro should love life right now, being engaged to Oswald Grant, the man of her dreams. But several things are just not working for her right now, from her career to Oswald's suddenly disapproving family, to even losing her beloved dog. It doesn't help that Oswald's cousin, Ian, is around and Oswald is not hiding the green that seems to overcome him when Milagro and Ian come into any type of contact.

Things are disappearing, moving on their own or being ruined and Milagro just can't figure out who is behind it. If that wasn't enough for her to worry about, Oswald has been acting very odd lately and it seems he's coming up with reasons not to be with her. Worse of all, when Milagro does try to talk with Oswald, he doesn't seem to believe her and now the council has sent the absolute last person she wants around to help her with the vampire portions of the wedding. Milagro just needs to work with a wedding planner, the council helper, the conditions of the council and of course the Oswald's family. Not a problem, right?

The Bride of Casa Dracula has Milagro trying to put together her wedding, but as per usual nothing is easy. Milagro was her normal scampy, funny self and full of energy in trying to get her and Oswald's wedding together. But several things are suddenly not going to plan -from Oswald himself clear to the councilman. I loved Milagro's adventures and I was drawn into The Bride of Casa Dracula pretty quickly. I was happy and enjoying my time reading about Milagro, Oswald and the entire gang until the end when I was very disillusioned in not only how the story ended but in just about all the characters. I have to admit that Ms. Acosta broke my romance loving heart in the way the Casa Dracula series ended. I did look to see if maybe another book was planned, but did not appear so.

3 out of 5 stars Glad I Read It   December 29, 2008
I had previously read both of the other Casa Dracula books. I was so annoyed with the heroine Milagro after Happy Hour at Casa Dracula I'd sworn off the series. I'd already requested this book from the library and hesitated to even pick it up but did so in case I was desparate to escape crazy relatives over the holidays.

I am glad I read the book. Milagro was not as silly and naive as she was in the previous too books. I enjoyed reading Bride of Casa Dracula more than the other two books.

4 out of 5 stars Good Series   December 26, 2008
I really enjoyed this series, it's very off-beat, but funny. The latest book was just as good as the other two, but had a very different ending than I expected.

4 out of 5 stars More like 4 1/2 stars....   October 26, 2008
Just how hard is it for a human to marry a vampire?

Milagro De Los Santos is amazed at the ridiculous regulations that The Council's Rules Committee expects her to abide by! Not only does she have to now plan a public wedding with Dr. Oswald Grant, but she also has to plan a private ceremony involving ancient customs that make absolutely no sense to her. Will Milagro survive with her sanity?

THE BRIDE OF CASA DRACULA is the book I've been waiting for in this series! Finally, Milagro comes completely into her own. I would highly suggest reading the Casa Dracula series in order as the events in THE BRIDE OF CASA DRACULA will make perfect sense in the context of the series but might seem a little disjointed without the background. Past characters appear quite frequently, such as Nancy's reappearance (this time as a wedding consultant). In fact, fans of the series will delight in the sequence of events that ensues.

Milagro's growth as a character is just pure fun to watch! Marta Acosta does a beautiful job at making Milagro and a whole host of secondary characters come to life. Yes, the characters are quirky but it is their uniqueness that makes them so endearing and memorable. Milagro isn't perfect but rather she makes mistakes just like any other human. THE BRIDE OF CASA DRACULA is easily recommended!

4 out of 5 stars Witty and charming fun!   October 8, 2008
The Bride of Casa Dracula by Marta Acosta

Oversize paperback release date September 16, 2008
4 stars

Marta Acosta's The Bride of Casa Dracula is another fresh addition to her Casa Dracula Series. Her eccentric characters are alive with charm and style. Milagro De Los Santos is an aspiring author who is soon to be wed to the man of her dreams, plastic surgeon Oswald Grant. The problem is Oswald comes from a long line of `vampires' and to marry they must resolve problems with parents, murder attempts and the secretive Vampire Council. To make things more stressful, Milagro is reunited with Ian, the handsome debonair vampire who has been pursuing her and Milagro finds, to her dismay that she may not want to run.

This book is filled with zany escapades, as feisty Milagro seems to find herself in wacky to serious situations wherever she goes. The off the wall characters make this read a non-stop ride. If you are looking for a fun read that is full of laughter and enjoy a spirited heroine, with unconventional appeal, this is the book for you! The only small disappointment with the story for me is that it ended rather abruptly and unresolved. That is to say, it is not a typical ending and seems to imply there will be another book in the series. But if you love this series, this will not be a problem since you will want to read more anyway!
