Isnt that what he tried to do with Jesus in the wilderness in Matthew 4, but Jesus was not ignorant to his schemes. It did not work on Jesus, but could it work on us? Satans job on earth would be a lot easier if he could get people to just feel as if they are walking with God, when in fact, they are actually walking in shadows. Also, should we not expect distorting of salvation through Christ would be one of the first things Satan would pervert? Jesus clearly says in Matthew 71314, "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it." What does this mean few will find it? We never want to believe the simplicity of this statement. Why will only few find it? Is it because God has hidden it, or made it too complex? Of course not! It is because Satan has provided so many other ways to "be saved" through traditions, and manmade ideas, which are found nowhere in Scripture. Many of us live our lives in the shadows. The shadows represent living in deception and the lies of the world today by reason of our own ignorance. This ignorance is simply because we have always believed what we have heard, without examining Scripture, to see if what we have heard, is true. God did not intend for us to live in shadows, but gave us the light of the world, and His Spirit, so we could behold truth. Even if we are walking in shadows, we have hope because shadows are only present when Light is nearby. Now lets take a walk on an eye opening journey, experiencing God through His Spirit, to create an ongoing hunger and thirst for God and His truth.

You will be challenged to think. Verge takes a tremendous foundation story and builds a book that will challenge your thoughts and traditions. Verge is direct with his thoughts and ties them to scripture. Good read by a bold writer.

This book is laced with scripture as the author challenges the things you have been taught in the church. The opening story catches you right off and prepares you for the rest of your reading. If you want non-fiction spiritual warfare, but also challenging teaching from a well studied author, this book is a must.
