| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Louise Mehaffey is a master with the torch, melting glass and wrapping it around a metal rod called a mandrel to create beautiful glass beads. In this book, she provides safe and easy techniques for making beads of all shapes and sizes, with tips on setting up a studio, buying the necessary tools and materials, and learning the basic skills. Helpful step-by-step instructions and photographs demonstrate how to make various shapes, from round to rectangle, and add interesting effects, such as etching and gold leaf inclusions. There are 22 projects featured, including a dot bead, hollow eye bead, petal bead, Christmas tree, and snowman.

Excellent Book! October 11, 2008 This book would be great for any beginner! The techniques and projects would help anyone get to know glass better, how it moves and how to work it to your advantage. And there are also tips that would help the more advanced beadmaker increase their skills.
Awesome! It really clicked for me! October 10, 2008 I received my book as a birthday gift. It's been a gift that I keep referring to, and can't keep my hands off. I find something new to try each time I open it. I really appreciate the featured "mistakes" mixed in. There are lots of pictures and straight forward instructions. Another bonus, the spiral bound spine lays flat on my worktable. Bottom line, love this book. I would recommend it highly.
One happy beadmaker!
unfortunate choice October 6, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is sadly disappointing. The cover images show more refinement than the contents. The information is incomplete, and sometimes completely misleading. I hoped for better.
