Amazon.com Money maven Suze Orman's latest book, Women & Money addresses the complicated (and often dysfunctional) relationship women have with personal finance. Orman's direct, non-condescending style is perfect for this subject matter--she begins with the premise that "Women can invest, save, and handle debt as well and skillfully as any man" and then tackles the important question--"So why don't they?" Designed to educate and inspire, Women & Money also offers a "Save Yourself Plan," a five-month program that "delivers genuine long-term financial security." Want to know more? Watch a video message from Suze below, and take a gander at the first chapter of Women & Money--you'll be "controlling your destiny" in no time. --Daphne Durham An Exclusive Video Message from Suze Orman

For Women Only
I never thought I'd write a book about money just for women. I never thought it was necessary. So then why am I doing just that in my eighth book? And why now? Let me explain. All my previous books were written with the belief that gender is not a factor on any level in mastering the nuts and bolts of smart financial management. Women can invest, save, and handle debt just as well and skillfully as any man. I still believe that--why would anyone think differently? So imagine my surprise when I learned that some of the people closest to me in my life were in the dark about their own finances. Clueless. Or, in some cases, willfully resisting doing what they knew needed to be done. I'm talking about smart, competent, accomplished women who present a face to the world that is pure confidence and capability. Do you mean to tell me that I, Suze Orman, who make my living solving the financial problems of total strangers, couldn't spot the trouble brewing so close to home? I don't think I'm blind; I just think that these women became very, very good at hiding their troubles from me.Why not? They had years of practice hiding them from themselves.

Product Description Why is it that women, who are so competent in all other areas of their lives, cannot find the same competence when it comes to matters of money? Suze Orman investigates the complicated, dysfunctional relationship women have with money in this groundbreaking new book. With her signature mix of insight, compassion, and soul-deep recognition, she equips women with the financial knowledge and emotional awareness to overcome the blocks that have kept them from making more out of the money they make. At the center of the book is The Save Yourself Plan -- a streamlined, five-month program that delivers genuine long-term financial security. But what's at stake is far bigger than money itself: It's about every woman's sense of who she is and what she deserves, and why it all begins with the decision to save yourself.

AWSOME August 31, 2008 Suze is definitely right on! this is a book that every woman should read and apply to cover the basics in life. We cannot expect to know it all, but thanks to this book we can at least get started on the right path to be financially independant, minimize the risks of the unknown and have a wonderful peace of mind knowing that what we value most is taken care of no matter what. I love this book and definitely recommend it to all women!
Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny August 30, 2008 Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny
This book is great and very informative. I got divorce after 18 years, had to sell our home, gave him our business, and had to start over. He said I couldn't make it without him. This books encourages you and helps you get started on a new life. I now own my own home, flipping houses, have an apartment house and still have my full time job with benefits. My ex was a spender so even with less income I now have a savings account and started on my way to a great new life and making my own decisions!
Helpful Even If You Don't Have Money, Yet! August 18, 2008 I love this book! I've always liked Suze (although I was never crazy about her presentation style) but I also thought that you had to have some money to work with before you would benefit from anything she was saying. This book is great because it gives you things to start doing today, no matter what your financial situation is, that will allow you to be in a better situation 6 months from now. She also stresses the importance for women to have their own money! You just never know what the future will hold, and there is no way that any woman should be totally dependent on her partner!
Self Help but Clear August 14, 2008 Its still suprising how many people don't realize or understand finances this is a great book for the novice to get an easy understanding of where you should be at 20,30 or even 50!
Women And Money August 13, 2008 I am learning quit a lot about my investments and chooseing the best plan for me. I feel more informed when I talk to the broker after reading this book.
