| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Written on the City is a glimpse into a vast conversation happening illegally and in public. All over the world, people are writing messages on the walls and sidewalks of the cities in which we live. They are staying up late, breaking the law, and taking risks to say something to you. Some of it is funny. Some of it is beautiful. Lots of it is upsetting, crazy, and brilliant at the same time. And all of it is important. This book continues that conversation through the eyes of photographers who recognized the importance of those words on the walls and shared them with us. Enjoy.

Written on the City October 21, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Have you ever wondered about those messages stenciled on the sidewalk? They always stir my curiosity. Or the random phrase spray painted on some wall? I love you, it says. I know it's not meant for me, or is it? Written on the City shows you these messages, a glorious crowd of them from Madrid, Sofia, San Francisco, Montevideo, London, so many more.
Bottom line: Do you ever feel alone in your teeming city?
If so, this book is for you. It's for me, too, because it connects me and you, not just to our cities, no, it'll send you around the world. Every time I dip into the book or visit the website that began it all, I know I'm part of world conversation, on the down low, up from the streets.
It's a beautiful book, too.
