Amazon.com Find out for yourself why virtually everyone you know has this book, described as an "adventure in pursuit of a spiritual mystery", on their coffee table. In the tradition of Carlos Castaneda's The Teachings of Don Juan.
Product Description You have never read a book like this before -- a book that comes along once in a lifetime to change lives forever.
In the rain forests of Peru, an ancient manuscript has been discovered. Within its pages are 9 key insights into life itself -- insights each human being is predicted to grasp sequentially; one insight, then another, as we move toward a completely spiritual culture on Earth. Drawing on ancient wisdom, it tells you how to make connections among the events happening in your life right now and lets you see what is going to happen to you in the years to come. The story it tells is a gripping one of adventure and discovery, but it is also a guidebook that has the power to crystallize your perceptions of why you are where you are in life and to direct your steps with a new energy and optimisim as you head into tomorrow.

Be inspired September 5, 2008 When I think about this book, I can say only one word: Inspiration. The characters, setting and plot combine to bring you into a place where you can learn deep spiritual insights. The insights are revealed one at a time and built upon each other.
This is a must-read for the spiritually-minded. The insights are about transformation. So they are powerful.
Another book you have to read is "Nexus: A Neo Novel"--an inspiring story of personal transformation. If you have read these books and like them, then let others know about them. That way we can help to uplift the vibration of those around us.
unforgettable August 29, 2008 My sister adviced me to read this book. She almost reads everything she can find. But after I read it, we agreed on one point. This book gave us a view unforgettable for a lifetime. That is: when you have a relationship with someone, he/she absorbs the energy from you because the relation has its dynamics and balance. If you are on the heavier side, you absorb the energy.. That is something I can never forget.. Thanks James Redfield
spritual and exciting... August 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is fictional but spritual based on seemed to be feasible fact factors. Before I picked up this book, my mind was somewhat thirsty with seeking the true meaning of life. In some way it helped me more appreciative of what I have now. The buttom line is that it was so hard to put this down for a break.
Embarrassing August 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book was so poorly written it was almost embarrassing to read. How on Earth did this crap get published? The literary community should do itself a favor and critically tear this book to shreds.
I give it two stars only because some of its ideas were interesting, though obviously hairbrained. I just...I just can't get over how terrible the writing was. Someone else mentioned it read like it was written by an eighth grader--I completely agree.
What's worse is that someone decided to turn it into a movie! No wonder it ended up getting 4% on [...].
Really, really bad. Really.
Well ... it didn't make me angry August 1, 2008 Actually, my title should really be: "Well, it was better than The Mothman Prophecies'." (For the "why" see my review of that book.)
I have to admit, the ideas are interesting. Even some of the philosophies I agree with strongly. But there just seems to be a push for humanity to believe that we've evolved enough to harness the metaphysical energies of the Universe in the ways described in this novel.
And it is a novel ... some folks seem to forget that.
We are made up of the energy of said Universe ... but we are 3 dimensional beings. Yes, our evolution has sped up quite a bit over the last hundred thousand years, but to see non-visible energy, to vibrate our bodily energy beyond what it does normally ... it just doesn't jibe.
I guess I'm too much of a scientist to believe in the fantastical ... yes, "I want to believe" but practicality just kicks in and I'd rather spend my time and energy in Reality.
Having said that ... even when I removed the scientist (kicking and screaming) from the picture, the story didn't hold me. It was like reading a series of lectures tied together with a rather thin plot that seemed to think it was speeding along but slows to a creep when the lecturer starts again. So even when a grain of salt, I found this a bland experience.
Sad too ... there are some very important ideas in this book concerning the role of religion and self-determination in modern society.
