Product Description She's the spiciest ingredient in the legendary rap group Salt-N-Pepa, and the outspoken star of VH1's smash-hit reality show. She's Sandy "Pepa" Denton -- and she's never at a loss for words. Now, in her first tell-all book, Pepa talks about sex, music, life, love, fame, and so much more...."Most of you know me as Pep, or Pepa, the fun-loving half of Salt-N-Pepa. I am the party girl, the one who is down for whatever. But behind the laughs and the smiles is a whole lot of pain." Funny, fearless, and full of life, Sandy "Pepa" Denton is a pop culture icon whose remarkable story is every bit as captivating and provocative as her Grammy Award-winning music. This is the real Pepa -- upfront, uncensored, unstoppable -- and these are the memoirs of a true pioneer, fighter, survivor, and inspiration to women everywhere. For the first time, Pepa talks about: Her troubled childhood Surviving abuse Her first encounters with Cheryl "Salt" James Salt-N-Pepa's instant success Her failed marriages and her escape from domestic abuse Her "breakup" with Salt and their eventual "reunion" Her triumphant comeback on the VH1 reality shows The Surreal Life, Fame Games, and The Salt-N-Pepa Show Filled with surprising insights, outrageous anecdotes, and celebrity cameos -- including Queen Latifah, Martin Lawrence, Janice Dickinson, Omarosa, Missy Elliott, L.L. Cool J, supermodel Caprice, Ron Jeremy, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, "Spinderella," and many others -- Let's Talk About Pep offers a fascinating glimpse behind the fame, family, failures, and successes of celebrity...and into the faithful heart of a woman who will always value the good friends she found along the way. In the words of Sandy "Pepa" Denton, "there's no walking away from that."

It was okay, wasn't what I expected.......... November 17, 2008 This books took me a while to finish, it was an okay read, wasnt what I expected. Pep did go through alot, which no one would have had any idea, because she covered it up so well. Keep being strong Pep!
very interesting book November 16, 2008 always enjoyed myself some salt and pepa and when i found out pep was doing a book i was interested and this book is very eye opening from start to finish. she touches on her childhood, career and where she is now and is very upfront on matters of the heart,etc... i enjoyed this book a great deal. she is a beautiful lady and i respect her honesty.
Very Interesting November 11, 2008 This is a very interesting book. Pep really shares her life experiences and emotions throughout this book. Every page is more interesting than the page before. The story line was written, almost as if you were there with her. Although, she switches up moments, that often leaves you wondering, "Where'd that come from?" She can also get really repetitive, meaning she repeats the same line or information that she revealed previously in the book, again. Nevertheless, it is a well written biography by Pep and I'd highly recommend it.
Need some Pep? November 10, 2008 Celebrities have it extremely hard. They are constantly put on a pedestal as though they have some super human powers that make them immune to flaws. Pepa, from the celebrity group Salt n Pepa, lives under this microscope everyday. Being half of the most iconic female hip hop group has proven to make her already difficult life even more trivial. From her humble beginning as the youngest of a large family to her party like a rockstar peak, Pepa has had her share of trials and tribulations. Just when you think she has made it through the worst, things seem to get even more crazy for her. This book shares some enlightening truths that prove that Pepa doesn't want to live with regrets. Everything she has gone through has been for a reason.
This book was a lightening fast read. This book was recommended to me and I must say I was impressed. I have read other `tell all' books and right away this book simply read different. She talks about her life without restriction making it clear that the more she lived, the more she understood the reason she did and put up with certain things.
The most alarming chapters were when she divulged the extreme relationship with her and Treach from Naughty By Nature. By the time I got to this part of the book I was under the impression that she had been through the worst in her relationships. Boy was I wrong! I could not put this book down at this point! Wow! I completely empathized with her plight and respected her honesty about her situation. Seeing her open up about what she went through will more than definitely give someone else in an abusive relationship something to think about. Here is this powerful, beautiful celebrity with one of the finest men in the industry and she is literally fighting for her life on a daily basis. Want to know more? Pick up this book, it doesn't disappoint!

An Outstanding Novel Delivered Honestly October 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been trying to read this book since the moment I purchased it due to being in between novels. I was afraid this story would be another bland biography offering little substance. I'm happy to say Sandra's novel does not fall in this category.
The saying "you make time for what you want to do" is why I read this novel in one day. Running my own company and reading thousands of manuscripts, it's easy for me to lose interest. But from the moment Sandra talked about her exciting relationship with her Jamaican family I was hooked! Pepa didn't hold any cut cards in this novel and I recommend this story to all young women who believe that money can buy you love.
Thanks for reppin' once again Pepa! Once a fan I'll always be a fan!
