Darn good June 20, 2008 This book is really, really good. Much like Glannon's E & E on Civ Pro, but to a lesser extent, Best takes a seemingly complex subject and makes it very simple. I was suprised by how easy evidence turned out to be. For evidence, case law isn't enough. This synthesizes the case law rather nicely.
What is does, it does well May 3, 2008 There is not much to this book, which is probably caused by the fact that there is not much to an intro evidence course. If you are taking an Evidence course based on the Federal Rules, I am not sure that this book is a whole better than getting the Federal Rules and reading its comments. Then why I am rating this book at 4 stars, rather than lower? Because what this E&E book does, it does well.
A great help! September 14, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A really great book, it finally brought some clarity to evidence. But be prepared to spend some time reading this book, as it has fairly in-depth coverage. Even so, I found it a very valuable study tool.
great book September 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is very helpful, especially because my professor recommended it. The explanations are clear and useful.
Eeeeeeeeeeehhhh, not so great May 26, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Don't waste your money on this book. You're better off reading the advisory committee notes in the FRE rulebook than this thing. It's cursory and the illustrations are ridiculous. Stick to the Finals books; they're more helpful for Evidence, I think.
