Tracking down a monster September 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Brenda Novak continues her wonderful trilogy with Stop Me. Jasmine Stratford receives a cryptic delivery in the mail post marked from New Orleans the is enclosed with a bracelet that her sister was wearing the moment she disappeared over fifteen years earlier. Romain Fornier, a man she meets in New Orleans also had a similar situation happen to him nearly four years ago when his daughter was kidnapped. These two join forces to stop the monster that is responsible for the kidnapping and murdering of the innocent. This is a harrowing tale that will keep the reader on their toes as the two follow clue after clue to track down a monster.
A Great Quick Read September 6, 2008 I read this one sitting by the pool on my vacation. My first Brenda Novak endeavor. Thoroughly enjoyed this story of a woman in search of finding her sister who was kidnapped many years earlier while under her watch. I liked it alot and I will most definitely read other titles by this author. An intense plot, with good characterization, makes this a good one to curl up with by the fire in the upcoming cold winter months.
Best so far! September 5, 2008 Trust Me was the 1st book in The Last Stand trilogy (and the first novel I've ever read by Brenda Novak). I enjoyed Trust Me very much but was a bit disappointed with the romance side of the story.
Stop Me did a much better job in that department. Romain & Jasmine's relationship sizzled and the torment each of them felt for their feelings was very well explained. The suspense/mystery was superb as well!
Can't wait to read Watch Me next!
Started out strong and went downhill August 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It started out strong, I loved the characters and storyline...and the chemistry between Romain and Jasmine was great. But the ending was terrible...it just seemed very abrupt, they got their HEA but without really resolving some of the issues. There were elements that were left hanging. I don't want to give away a big spoiler but the epilogue made no sense whatsoever.
kept me awake August 22, 2008 IN these days of rehashed and reworked, this is truly a good read. It kept me awake for two nights until I finally finished it and having finished it, reached for more. Definitely worth a bad night....
