Amazon.com Review Past life regressions are fascinating to consider, but have you ever wondered what happens between lives? In Destiny of Souls hypnotherapist Michael Newton asks dozens of his own patients to describe their lives from the moment of death right up until reincarnation into this world. Newton described this journey in his first book, Journey of Souls, and now takes us back for a second trip that is described in infinitely more detail. Of therapeutic interest is how spirits contact the living to help loved ones they've left behind deal with their grief. Newton assures readers that they will reconnect with those who have gone before them, even their pets. He answers the full range of questions one could ever think to ask about life after death: How can a soul be in heaven and reincarnate at the same time? How are new souls created? How are souls who've done evil on earth punished? These and many other questions are answered with surprising congruity between respondents.
Product Description Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton, Ph.D., contains interviews given by sixty-seven people under hypnosis discussing their experiences between lives on earth. The result is a book which proves, beyond any doubt, that who and what you are continues, grows, and evolves into something wonderful even after you pass on into the next world. Death, that amazing transition, will no longer be seen as an ending or something fearful. Rather, you will understand that it is merely a change, a beginning, a way-station for rest and recuperation before rebirth. Dr. Newton holds a doctorate in counseling and is a master hypnotherapist. This book is based on his groundbreaking research into the afterlife. It will thrill and astonish you, and is ideal introductory reading for this subject, or if you have already read his best-selling first volume, Journey of Souls. In Destiny of Souls, you will explore the meaning of existence and what life is like between lives. You will discover: - Your purpose on Earth - The truth about soulmates - How spirits connect with and comfort the living - Spirit guides - The Council of Elders that interviews us between lives - Why you choose a certain body to incarnate into - What souls do between lives Destiny of Souls will show you more of the hidden aspects of what happens after death and help you understand the incredible order and peace that exists within the afterlife. If you have ever wondered what happens after death, if you want more peace of mind and happiness in your life today, read Destiny of Souls.

expectations and acceptances September 6, 2008 A lot of commentary from the Author who happens to be able to conduct hypnotic sessions, has very interesting answers that come from these people who undergo this state can answer the questions that he asks them while under hypnosis is very interesting for someone who has ever wondered about reincarnation or what happens after we die and go on from here.
There Are Books That Merely Wet Your Appetite, But This One Satisfies The Hunger! August 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I haven't yet read the author's first volume which was 'Journey Of Souls' but this second volume was enthralling from start to finish. Unlike a lot of other books I've read on various aspects of LAD and NDE which oftentimes comes across as a bit "woo woo", fluffy and absurd, Destiny Of Souls left my own feeling light and hopeful. The hypnotic confessions of his subjects are so detailed and intelligently recounted that it would take a lot to convince me that they were anything BUT legitimate. Reincarnation is a subject that intrigues me immensely, and past life hypnosis is something I would love to one day undergo, as I have had strange, intriguing and unexplainable experiences in my life that left me thirsty to explore this highly fascinating area. Skeptics will always find a way to cast doubt upon anything and everything not 'of this world' and I admit to being skeptical on some level of various authors and so called professionals, but Michael Newton is certainly not one of them.
From the author of Tales of Ancient Xenar July 25, 2008 I read Journey of Souls and very much enjoyed it. I read Destiny and enjoyed it a little more. In this book, Dr. Newton gives more details about his research into the afterlife. He offers more in-depth information he gets from his patients. He utilizes a method of hypnosis he developed. After reading this book, I am very much intrigued. I am now reading his third book, Life between Lives. That book teaches his hypnosis methods. I hope to utilize them and modify them into self-hypnosis techniques. I highly recommend this book if you wish to learn more about the afterlife and your purpose on this earth.
Not worth the time or money. June 27, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Whatever you want to believe in, he has found a way to weave it into the story so that no one's beliefs are challenged. He even finds a way to make fairies real!
I find it hard to believe that souls which are supposedly made of energy, require buildings and gardens to live in, in the after-life. The subjects in this book describe the place souls go after death, as a large university with libraries and rooms. They frequently refer to the souls as students who gather in classrooms to study from books. Even more difficult to believe, is the claim that souls require recess from their studies, and lesiure time!
Even more laughable, is the claim that between lives, some souls like to "vacation" on earth and wander around as tourists! When the author questioned the subject under hypnosis, he responded, "We are only visitors...It is a vacation trip for all of us." (pg 71) and "As visitors, we soar through the mountains and valleys, the cities and small towns....It is interesting to bump into different kinds of beings who are also on tour here." (pg 71)
I am fairly open minded (I practice astrology) and believe in an existence after death. But this book was so far-fetched, it read like pure fantasy on the part of the author. I would have liked his case studies to be scrutinised by an independent body, someone to analyse and verify his methods.
Inherent in his writing is the idea that no soul is capable of committing wrongful acts. Bad things happen in the world because an incarnating soul has trouble "meshing" its energy with a human brain. Anything bad that we do, is the fault of the primitive human brain. Anything good we do, is the work of the soul. Souls that have been associated with bad acts on earth do not have to answer to anyone in the afterlife, they simply have their energy healed, and a wise council of elders discusses better ways they could live in future lives. I find these ideas questionable.
This book was a huge waste of time.
