Product Description From the heat of an Acapulco night...Cyn McCall knew she could always count on her late husband's friend and business partner, Worth Lansing. He could make her laugh and forget her problems. She could tease him about his many romantic entanglements. The last thing Cyn expected was to find herself longing for a man who could never settle down.

A Whole New Light September 17, 2009 M. Nix It's been two years since her husband Tim had died and Cynthia McCall's life is lacking something but she is unwilling to admit it. Cyn misses Tim but she has her son, her job and her best friend, Worth. To her everything is perfect. Until she takes a weekend trip with Worth.
Worth Lansing misses his best friend Tim just as much as Cyn does. But he agrees with Cyn's mother, Cyn needs to get out and not spend all of her time at home. So when his weekend date cancels on him, Worth convinces Cyn to go in her place. A little sun and relaxation is just what she needs.
There's a problem with their room. It has one king sized bed. They can't both sleep there. Cyn is all in favor of finding another room but Worth convinces her they can do this. After all it's just a weekend with a friend. And then suddenly their awareness of each other bursts into being. Things get beyond their control very fast. All Cyn feels the next morning is shame and guilt.
Now they are both brooding because they have both lost their best friend. Cyn hides in her work. For Worth, Cyn is the only woman he wants and she isn't speaking to him. Can they patch up their friendship? One wedding, one date night that turns into a comedy of errors and one frightened teenaged girl later and a relationship could be just around the corner for the two of them.
Worth and Cyn are so hot for each other you can hear the flames crackle as you turn the pages. A Whole New Light is not the tame, sweet little romance I thought it would be when I started reading. There's most certainly heat in those pages. Don't get me wrong, it is a sweet romance but the tension between Cyn and Worth makes it all the better.

First book I read by Sandra Brown... August 27, 2009 Jennifer J. Hoey First book I read by Sandra Brown, but it won't be my last! Excellent romance! Well worth the money!
MY FIRST FICTION ON TAPE/CD. June 5, 2009 Kym McNabney (Illinois) This was my first experience listening to fiction on CD. I picked this up at the library, knowing I had a long drive ahead of me...seventeen hours to, Wyoming. It was good, and most likely would have been better if I would have been able to read it, thus giving it more attention.
I haven't read a lot of Sandra Brown, but what I have read, I've liked. This story was well written, with a good story line. Always loved that best friends, discovered they love one another. Something I'm currently writing.
Reissue of a Classic September 9, 2008 Kristi Ahlers (Illinois) Cyn McCall is a young widow who is finding her life to be less then fulfilling. She wants something to happen, shake things up a bit. She's lonely but isn't sure exactly what she's looking for. When her best friend Worth invites her on a spontaneous trip to Acapulco she agrees to go but can't help that she may be making a mistake.
Worth Lansing is a playboy and he knows it but once he gets Cyn down to Mexico, his platonic feelings for her undergo a change. How could he be feeling this way about his best friends widow? Despite not knowing if he's about to ruin his relationship with Cyn they give into the passion that is born of sultry romantic nights in a paradise far from their lives in Texas. But, eventually they will have to face what they've done. Is their passion for each other going to be enough to get them through the changes their friendship will have to undergo in order for them to be together, or has one night of passion ruined a friendship that means the world to both of them?
This re-issue of one of Ms. Brown's first Loveswept title is perfect example of why this woman has become such a force in the romance/mainstream genre today. There is plenty of passion, angst and romance within this quick read. I highly suggest any titles by this talented author.
Disappointed May 26, 2008 suz (PA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have read two other books by Sandra Brown- Ricochet and Playing Dirty and liked them very much especially Ricochet. However, was totally disappointed with A Whole New Light. Rarely do I NOT finish a book but this was one. It went on and on about nothing inparticular- VERY boring. Left it on an airplane!
