I am a Baldacci fan that has read all his work and eagerly await his latest. True Blue was a total disappointment. The story line is contrived and the characters are developed about as much as a Garfield cartoon episode. I can't actually find one thing I would recommend about this book.
I thought "simple genius" was the worst, but this one surpassed it! November 22, 2009

after "simple genius", i've pushed d.b. into "declining writers" category, but still, i picked up his new ones automatically. "the whole truth" and the last camel club series seemed to be okay, but alas, here comes another coffin nail from this author again. i now absolutely believe that d.b. has totally lost it! this is the final mistake i've made on d.b. but never again. adios, d.b.

This was a real disappointment. I have always enjoyed Baldacci books, but this plot is too contrived and he characters unbelievable. I would not buy any follow u if he is plannng a series.

Wow I am surprised by the bad reviews. I loved this book and I read it in less than a week. This book starts out suspenseful and does not let up until the end which I have to admit leaves us hanging a bit. This book is more in the vane of one of his old novels Saving Faith and it does not resemble his last 3 or 4 books very much so maybe the bad reviews are from people who have not read his early works. If you liked the early novels from Baldacci you should like this one as well.
