philosophy: ¼ c. warm milk, 1/2c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp. cinnamon, 4 tbsp. softened butter, 2 eggs, 1 pkg. dry yeast, 1/4c. warm water, 2 ½ c. flour. mix all ingredients except yeast, water and flour and let cool. stir and dissolve yeast in warm water. add yeast to first mixture, beat until mixed. add 1 ½ c. flour. cover and let rise for 1 hour. add remaining flour, blend well. knead until smooth. put dough in greased bowl, cover, let rise until double its size. punch down, shape rolls, let rise for 1 hour. bake at 400° for 18 minutes. yum yum cinnamon buns! philosophy captured the delicious aroma of freshly baked cinnamon buns in a 16 oz. shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath. when you lather up with this ultra rich 3-in-1 formula you will be reminded of the warm, decadent smell of cinnamon buns radiating from the kitchen. there's nothing like the sweet smell of holiday goodies to warm your heart and make you feel right at home!

My Favorite Shampoo February 10, 2010

Unlike most reviewers of philosophy's cinnamon buns 3-in-1, I use this primarily as a shampoo. When I ordered it, I was guessing that it was the kind of 3-in-1 that featured an amazing shower gel, a luxurious bubble bath and just a passable shampoo. I won't go into how great the shower gel and bubble bath are because many reviewers have already covered that, but the shampoo completely surpassed my expectations. The scent is intoxicating -- a blend of fresh cinnamon rolls, sweet sugary icing, and even spicy chai -- and it's easy to work into an ambrosial, abundantly fluffy lather. I have dense, long-ish hair that quickly gets greasy in the roots/bangs, so the balance of light moisture and intense cleansing that this gives my hair is perfect; after shampooing, all I need to do is condition the tips. If you've got similar hair, give this a shot!
Also, I like that the scent doesn't linger; the shower experience is a treat, and when it's done I'm free to wear any scent I want. If I wanted the scent to last all day, I'd look for lotion or perfume with a similar fragrance. In general, I think the three great functions that this product already provides are enough to justify the price tag.

Fabulously rich and thick gel that I use for my hair and body when I'm looking to perk up in am. It smells so yummy, i always wish it was edible. Very mild formula that cleans well and as a shampoo is mild without leaving my hair dry or strip the color out.

The scent of cinnamon buns is true and it smells great while showering. It does not stay on the skin though. They need to make a matching lotion!

Please, if you have any illusions about a cinnamon buns scent that lingers on your skin, forget about it. This is a soap of average quality that smells like cinnamon - for a moment or two. The scent is gone before I even finishing rinsing it away. And forget about the bathroom smelling nice after your shower or bath. I even tried it in my hair, thinking that would help the scent to stay around. It didn't work. If you don't mind paying a little more for shower gel, go for it - the scent is a nice little perk. But if you're looking for more, you won't find it here.
