Best Baby Monitor in the World September 18, 2008
I've had this monitor for four years and it works perfectly. It has less interference that other monitors I own and great range. The breathing sensor works great, but you have to set the sensitivity correctly. It will go off sometimes when the baby is really in deep sleep, but I prefer that to not having this monitor. Buy it with your eyes closed!

I have used this monitor continuously for two children (by the time the oldest one didn't need it - the new baby was here). It has been wonderful! While no one should ever expect to use the monitor in place of all the other important safeguards (no pillows, loose blankets, etc.) it provided a great deal of extra comfort to a parent who sometimes had to put her babies to sleep on their sides due to severe reflux issues (doctor was involved).
This monitor worked wonderfully with the sensor pad (not one false alarm in either the bassinett or crib for either baby) and then has continued to work well as just a monitor. I am just now having to replace the parent's unit due to a loose power connection after over 4 yrs. of continuous use, including being shoved in too many suitcases to count. I am shocked that there aren't more products like this on the market, but I am glad this one is out there. I honestly can't imagine not having this small amount of extra security unless a baby is too active for it to work - although my babies certainly moved around and it was still never a problem.

I requested (on the suggestion of my sis-in-law, now mom of three) the bebe sounds angelcare monitor/motion sensor on my baby shower registry, and thus received it as a gift. I purchased this unit to replace the original parents' unit that came with the monitor/motion sensor, which only failed after four years of continual use, including being dropped so hard on a tile floor that the two pieces of plastic that comprise the body became dislodged and misaligned (I had to remove a screw, readjust the pieces, and retighten the screw) and yet it still functioned fine for another 9 months before the speaker gave out. I have another (cheaper) monitor for my oldest child whose feedback is so loud it is sometimes hard to hear her when she awakes during the night. The Angelcare almost never feeds back. In fact it is so quiet that I sometimes have to check to make sure it is on. The motion sensor is awesome (until you forget to turn it off and remove your baby to settle down for a night-nursing which is then rudely interrupted by that heart-stopping alarm) and worth it for the peace of mind it brings (it was especially a comfort when my 2 year old started climbing out of her crib--the alarm would sound well before she could get her door open and head for the stairs). The unit is durable, with crystal clear sound, very light weight, with a handle that makes it very portable even when your hands are full. In short, worth every penny.
Much better than the original March 31, 2007
I replaced my original unit with this one due to a faulty power connector that wore out after about 8 months of use on the original. This unitl now has a sturdier power connector, as well as a "slider" style of volume control instead of just the low/medium/high volume control of the original.

We purchased our monitor from babies 'r us, as our 25 weeker baby came home without monitors. We wanted something, just for our safety. The monitor works great and the two additional parent devices we purchased from amazon worked with it perfectly. Wejust added batteries and it linked up with the system. Its great having multiple monitors around the house so, you can just turn one on and off, as you enter/leave the room. You won't have to worry about breathing one every single step.
