About Bell
More world champions have worn Bell Helmets than all other helmet brands combined. From Grand Prix racing through the Indy 500 to Olympic cycling, Bell helmets have played a vital role in protecting sportsmen and women for nearly 50 years. Bell began as a small auto parts store in a suburb of Los Angeles. Growing under the leadership of Roy Richter, Bell became a leader in safety equipment for auto racing, motorcycling, and then bicycling. His commitment to creating great product through a close connection with the sport, along with his trust of and care for the people who worked for him, turned Bell from a one-man operation into a multi-million dollar enterprise. His legacy lives on today in Bell's commitment to racing, quality and innovation.

1 out of 5 stars do not buy!   October 3, 2008
Really unsafe product, We used the seat about a dozen times but the bolts that attached the seat to the bike base did not screw in and the seat fell off mid ride!!! Luckily my son did not get hurt, just a little scared. The only good thing was the cocoon like surroundings which shielded his fall!

4 out of 5 stars Good seat   October 2, 2008
After researching the right seat for the right price we ended up buying this Cocoon seat. Online it said "new" and after receiving it pieces were used and there was hardware missing which delayed our rides (a bit bummed about that) but once we got the bike up and running it worked really well. It is a bit complicated getting it on the bike and isn't a quick on/off if you were to move it to another bike (another bummer).

My 1 year old son who's about 31" tall and 25 lbs fits great in in and my feet don't hit the foot rests at all. I have a women's 26" bike and I'm 5'6"...so overall it's a good seat.

4 out of 5 stars Good for the money   September 30, 2008
This is a good seat for the money...we have twins so we needed two seats. We got one as a hand me down, which was by a different company and much more expensive and bought this Bell seat for our second bike. The Bell seat was more complicated to install than the other seat, and not as many "bells and whisles" like shocks, etc. but I think it is just as good as far as safety. For a mid priced seat, I would recommend it to others.

1 out of 5 stars Very dangerous   September 12, 2008
I just bought this product so I could ride around the neighborhood with my daughter. The first few trial runs wre great, and she loved being in the seat. But the 3rd time out we took a different route that had a few gentle speed bumps for cars. When I was almost home I felt the weight in back of me shift, and my daughter and the seat fell into me. ALL FOUR bolts holding the seat in place had come off during our ride. Had she fell backwards instead of forwards she would have fallen onto the pavement in the middle of the road we were crossing. I do not recommend this seat at all and am taking it back to the store where I bought it as soon as possible.

1 out of 5 stars Flimsy and unsafe   September 3, 2008
This seat is flimsy thin plastic w/ holes in sides to allow child hands to hang out, the frame the seat mounts to is flimsy plastic that allows to much movement of assembly. My 2 yr old was scared the whole time and we never went on a ride with it. That was just sitting in the driveway. She has riden in other brands and enjoyed it. You may think the flexibilty of the plastic is fine but eventually the plastic will fatige and crack. The wobblyness allows for childs center of gravity to keep changing from side to side and contributes to the bike being unstable. I whole heartedly agree with others who have decided not to use this brand. Do your child and yourself a favor and spend the money on a better built seat.
