Great Little Swing June 9, 2008 I looked around for quite a while before purchasing this swing - our first daughter never liked swings or bouncy chairs so I was skeptical at first. I bought this swing because we have very limited space in our house and I liked that it could fold and go with us anywhere. Having a compact SUV, space isn't as much as issue when we travel, so we don't mind very much that it doesn't fold quite as small as the box would have you believe. Batteries last forever in this swing, it's great! It took Rosemary a couple of tries, but she was soon very happy in her swing. We love that we could move the mobile to let her see us or hang it over her head so she could watch the Rain Forest animals. The only reason I didn't give this swing 5 stars: the animals fall off the mobile CONSTANTLY. If you move the swing AT ALL, down they go. Of course, Rosie thinks this is wonderful because she can grab the froggy when it drops in her lap and then chew on him. However, it's not so wonderful when it falls on the floor and ends up covered in dog hair. HUGE pet peeve. Also, it says that you can use the swing until baby is 25 lbs or is "active" - they don't define this very well. Rosie has been trying to sit herself up for a long time and twice dumped herself face-first onto the floor because she was able to fold herself in half at the waste at JUST the right moment during the swing cycle. Since she was strapped in, she wasn't hurt, (suspended just above the floor) but it was still scary. If your child is smaller and less "active", you won't have any trouble at all.
annoying toy bar June 2, 2008 we are not huge fans of this swing. the toy bar keeps us from seeing the baby's face when she is in it which so does not fly with her. the swing is a nice shape and it is sturdy enough, but the sounds and toy bar are not for us.
we much prefer and use more often the open top swing we also have.
Prefect travel swing May 25, 2008 I have another fisher price swing that plugs into the wall but it's very big and not easy to move so I got this one. I love it and my son loves it!! it puts him to sleep and kepts him content. I truely couldn't be more pleased. It's not to fast on the low settings. My son 13 lbs and I usually but it on speed 2.
Great Swing, Deceptive Packaging April 13, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We really like this swing. The new, improved model is solid, stable, cute and our baby appears to be quite comfortable in it. However, please note that the picture of the folded-up swing on the box is somewhat deceptive. The picture indicates that the swing folds up much more compactly (third picture under "other views" here on Amazon) than it actually does (second picture here on Amazon). We bought this in a store, had only the pictures on the box to go by and put it together only to find that it didn't fold up as small as the picture on the box suggests. It still easily fits in the trunk of our compact car, but doesn't leave as much room for other things as I'd have hoped.
Take-Along Swing April 7, 2008 I got this for my 4 month old when the swing that I had from his sister stopped working. We are also going on a trip soon, and I thought a take-along swing will come in handy. With its open top, we can use the seat of the swing for feeding also. I also like the fact that the swing can easily move from room to room, unlike the full size swings that are to heavy and bulky to move. The only problem that I see is that with it being low to the ground, my 2 year old wants to sit in the swing when the baby is not in it, but she does not understand that she is to heavy. But that goes for anything the baby has.
