Reviewing P90X content October 9, 2008 I bought this a few months ago and, I confess, it sat around collecting dust while I tried other workout programs. Before doing the exercises, I read the manuals and watched each of the DVDs. This is important, because you need a visual sense of what to do before you do it.
The Cardio X, the Yoga X and the Ab Ripper X are my three favorites. I guarantee after an hour of doing any one of these, you will have sweat pouring off you in buckets. Tony Horton is right when he calls it 'DNA removal'.
After the recovery drink, which I also recommend, and a long shower, you will feel workout pain, but it's good pain.
This is worth the money. If you follow the program, you should see results within a month as I did.
P90X Great, but not here! October 4, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The product arrived very quickly. At the time of ordering, I cannot say that I paid attention to whether or not it was supposed to come with the books and nutrition guide. I figured P90X was P90X and it would come with what it was known to be. The nutrition guideline and workout guidelines are a very important part of the program.
Not only did the product arrive with ZERO literature, it arrived with inferior recorded DVDs. Half, if not most of the DVDs have some glitch in them, making them a pain to watch. Some have the screen go blank for several seconds, others have the image digitize and tweak for periods of time. The final DVD (ad ripper X) is almost unwatchable from beginning to end. It is constantly tweaking and going blank.
I would recommend P90X. I WOULD NOT recommend buying it from this vendor.
A great, inexpensive, well-designed workout program with great online tools October 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm an average Joe - definitely NOT a Joe Six-Pack, not my belly - who's gotten through the P90X 90-day program with really great results. Now if I can just stick with it between programs! (But that's my own darn fault.)
Simply put, this is one of the very few TV infomercial products that really WORKS and delivers what it promises.
Tony Horton and the Beachbody folks have done a great job creating a well-thought-out mix of exercises that don't require a ton of equipment (just some dumbbells, an exercise mat, and someplace to do pullups on!) and that just MAKE SENSE. And the online motivational tools (WOWY, message boards, etc.) are really good.
To get maximum benefit out of this program, you must commit not only to doing the exercises in the right time, intensity and order, but also to revising your nutrition as instructed by them. I will be honest: I did not do a good job of eating right, but I definitely improved my strength, flexibility and stamina while doing this program.
This is not a program for a couch potato to do right from couch-sitting position. You should have some basic cardio and strength abilities before launching into this program. But it works!
The DVDs are well done, with options to turn off the music, narration, most of the narration and just leave a few cues, etc. Which is good, because watching any DVD and listening to the narration over and over again could get old after a while. Horton is entertaining, motivated, and has a good crew with him showing the moves.
I would warn people - as Horton does, constantly - not to exceed your comfort level, especially with some of the more challenging yoga moves.
If you can finish this 90-day program - if you stay motivated, and this program will do everything it can to do so - you will see major results!
P90X Work Out DVD's October 3, 2008 I had to wait for over a month for my dvd's to come and almost lost my excitement for them. I have been using them for a week and am more than happy with this product. I have been looking a long time for a program that works your muscles without having to lift heavy all of the time. I also like how it works every part of each muscle. The cardio parts are fantastic too. I would highly recommend this exercise program to anyone. Just remember to start slow and know that you can work through the initial pain!!! Bring it.
Not bad!! October 1, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The only drawback was that I thought it included the entire exercise package, but it was only the DVD set; no exercise bands, etc.
