Manufacturer's Warranty Parts are covered for 90 days; Power Rods are covered for 5 years About Home Gyms While offering the convenience of working out in the comfort and privacy of your own home, home gyms also allow you to focus on specific routines without having to wait in line or switch between a complex array of machines. In addition to improving strength, power, coordination, and muscular endurance, weight training can enhance weight reduction, enhance the immune and cardiovascular systems, and help prevent injuries. In general, home gym machines are compact units designed to strengthen and exercise many parts of the body. While no single home gym can provide a complete strength training solution, they are a convenient way to combine many exercises into a single unit. Some home gyms focus exclusively on upper-body workouts, while other, more advanced units focus on upper- and lower-body conditioning.

This will replace many pieces of gym equipment January 23, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had my unit for a couple of weeks and all in all, I'm very happy with my purchase.
The unit is fairly compact and super easy to fold the bench completely up, so that there is room for floor workouts, etc.
I am a female that was already in fair shape, but needing some major toning. This is wonderful for the upper body. This lets me start my reps at weights as low as 5lbs. each side and build from there, so that part is fantastic. As far as the lower body goes, there are only a couple of provided exercises for the legs and they really aren't targeting the major problem areas for women (inner thighs and outer thighs.) The provided exercise targets the quads and mine are already big enough, thanks. I still recommend doing some basic inner thigh and outer thigh toners, which you can learn from Denise Austin's morning workout programs on Lifetime network, in conjuction with the Schwinn bowflex exercises. I'm sure there is a way to do these with the bowflex rods, but I haven't figured it out yet. I don't think there is a single piece of equip that can do it all, but this one comes close enough.
I still find that I like using freeweights for my biceps, but the chest fly and triceps kickbacks cannot be beat on the bowflex and isolate the muscle far better than with freeweights. The triceps are a major problem area for women and there are two variations provided, which is nice.
I also find the two ab exercises to be amazingly easy (no major huffing and puffing and straining) but quite effective, as I can already feel my tummy is tighter. Did I mention that I HATE ab exercises, but these really work!
There are a lot of back muscle exercises, so no excuses for flab under the bra, ladies!
While this piece of equip is great, it's not going to completely replace all of my strength training equip/program. For the reasons I already stated, don't throw out your freeweights just yet. But... for the price, the quality, and the variety of exercises, this really delivers, especially for women that want to tone their muscle without bulking up too much because you can start at such low weight resistance on this equip.
I would not recommend this product for men who want to train for Mr. Universe. They need the 3000 dollar Bowflex, but for the rest of us that only want to strength train a couple times a week this does the job great!
Quality Product January 9, 2007 Delivery was on time and assembly was a breeze. I'm very pleased with the product.
home gym January 4, 2007 i really enjoy my machine. it is extremely easy to use and works all areas. i just wish it had a few more leg exercises.
Buyer Beware, it's no Bowflex January 3, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After owning and using a real Bowflex for years, this item pales in comparison. Cheap construction (the seat pad is already falling apart), poor design (the seat will not adjust to a good position to do upper body exercices) and limited function (only one exercise for the legs). For $400.00 you do not get much. I would recomend finding a used Bowflex.
Good Product so far. October 30, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I just got this product 2wks ago. It came via Eagle which was very quick shipping. The amount of exercise it gives you is good if your looking for a nice machine to keep you in shape and toned. (which is what I wanted it for) Hard core trainers should not get this, stick to free weights instead. The rods take some time to get used to, but once your familiar with it, your breezing through your workout. Setup would have been relatively simple had I not run into a mfr defect. A really weird defect. When it came time to attach the upper lat bar to the main assembly, the holes were on the wrong side. Basically I was supposed to put in 6 screws 2 on left side, 2 right side, and 2 back. However, there were no holes in the back only in the front. There was no other way to put the pieces, so I knew this was a defect. Luckily, I had my drill with titanium 3/8th drill bit. 5 minutes later I had my hole and was able to tighten my screws. The nuts were a little tight, but i believe this was by design, lifting the weight you dont want those guys wiggling loose. Wife loves leg attachment feature. Had it not been for me having to drill, this would be a five star.
