I just bought these and started playing with them today. While they are a great addition to my sombrero for playing this game, they simply do not work as well as they should. You have to pop the WiiMote out of the maraca to select options on the screen (although you can scroll with the Nunchuck instead of using the pointer). The Nunchuk is VERY loose in the handle and comes out every time you set it down.
I got only about 50% of the poses, 75% of the dances. These maracas just don't let it register like they should. I'm going to try the Dreamgear version and see if that is better.

Samba De Amigo is great fun. Great soundtracks and the graphics are pretty cool. The maracas are not so good! Fit of the nunchuk control is lousy, very poor design. The lens on the end of the maracas do not allow the controler to see the sensor bar at all angles which renders the maracas a waste of money.
Still alot of fun with out the maracas! Ole'

I owned these Maracas controllers for 30 minutes before I started researching how to get a refund.
They slide on the Wiimote and nunchuck with a fairly loose fit, so the controllers sort of slip around inside the Maracas, with the Nunchuck constantly in danger of slipping out.. There are covers over the end that look like they should allow signal from the Wiimote through, but it just barely works, meaning you will need to pop the Wiimote in and out of the Maraca in order to navigate the on-screen menus. While using the Maracas, about a quarter of the shakes weren't registered, and I wasn't able to complete a single pose. These Maraca shaped controller covers detract from the gaming experience and make Samba de Amigo virtually unplayable.

One of the biggest surprises that came this year for the Nintendo Wii, was the release of Samba De Amigo. The classic game from the overlooked Sega Dreamcast era, has recently been a surprise hit for the music gamers everywhere. But, there are those who might have a hard time shaking their way to a high score. These Wii Maracas, are a convient way of using 2 Wii-Mote controllers, which slip on easily, as you can comfortably samba your way through the Wii title. While you can honestly control Samba De Amigo with also the Wii & Nunchuck controller, it just doesn't work as well as the 2 Wii-Motes. If you have Samba De Amigo, but you want to secure your 2 Wii contriollers, than these Wii Maracas are a great buy.
