| Customer Reviews:
Pricey!!! Awesome Boot but not beyond reproach. October 22, 2008 The Good. This is the best constructed boot that I've owned with great ankle support and ventilation for sweaty feet. My feet are well protected in these boots and I've not had any issues dealing with sand, twigs, insects, or the like finding their way in. They are decently padded for those times when you find yourself jumping in and out of vehicles where you tend to bang your ankles or stub a toe.
The Bad. Because of the solid construction these boots are very heavy. You'll notice this immediately. This was not an issue for me when walking about, or on patrol but during a "Boots and Utilities" run along the beach these boots felt like bricks. When the boots got wet the weight felt like it had doubled.
The Ugly. Within the first 6 months of medium use the weak glue caused the outsole to begin separation from the midsole. Additionally the weak stitching along the rear ankle above the heel caused the material to separate and the inner heel disintegrated. After 1 year of use I sent the boots in to Danner to be refurbished to the tune of $75 (not including shipping/insurance).
