Product Description This classic-style Sherpa winter hat has polar fleece lined earflaps and hat band for itch-free warmth. They're hand-crafted in Nepal, made of the finest lambs wool. Each Tashi Hat has been individually carded and knit in the valley of Kathmandu, Nepal. The Sherpa Tashi was one of our most popular hats in 2007, and this season Sherpa has added some new colors to the line. These hats are a Powderfin favorite...they have all the warmth of wool, with the added comfort of fleece lined ears and hatband. For an everyday winter hat, the Tashi is tough to beat. Sherpa Adventure Gear employs local Sherpas in their office in Katmandu, and contracts with Sherpa artisans (some of whom are their own cousins) to create the beautiful, hand-made Sherpa wool hats found on Powderfin Outdoors. Sherpa Adventure Gear was inspired by sheer chance in 2003. Back then, Tashi Sherpa and his family owned an import clothing business. In May of that year, while walking down the streets of Manhattan, a magazine cover caught his eye. The craggy lines of an anciently familiar face staring back belonged to none other than his Uncle Ang Gyalzen Sherpa. It was a commemoration issue for the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of Everest. Tashi was amazed and grateful to discover that his uncle was one of the original Sherpa veterans on that celebrated expedition in 1953.

| Customer Reviews: Warm winter hat with style February 27, 2010 Terry (LITTLETON, CO, US) This hat is very warm, the ear flaps keep ears warm and comfortable. The wool is soft and the fleece lining adds insulation.
Fine but fits tightly for big heads December 19, 2009 The cap has real quality. My problem was it's size. It was too tight for me so those with larger heads should consider another type cap made by this company.
Quality Hat October 19, 2009 lan 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a warm hat. It fits tight, almost like a skull cap, so people with large heads beware. It covers my ears and the entire back of my head if I pull it tight. The outer material is a semi-bulky wool, but the inner material is a soft fleece, so there's no itching. The two tails, admittedly, do look a bit silly; but they can be easily removed without damaging the rest of the hat. I prefer to keep them however, as an element of silliness does well to counteract a too-stern appearance.
Great Hat! October 16, 2009 Ortho 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I just got this hat in the mail today. Awesome hat. I have a semi large head and the fit is just a little tight. Normally I don't like tight hats but I don't mind with this hat. It is pretty warm. It's made out of wool but it doesn't itch, which is really nice. Overall I like it. I will definitely wear it a lot.
