My new favorite jeans? November 14, 2009

I just wanted a pair of basic durable jeans - not ones that were already ripped or had fancy stitching on the pockets or were so low on the waist that they showed - well, you know - when I bent over. I was getting a bit disgusted with other brands as they seemed not to be made very well and sometimes the fabric lost its shape after just one wash - never to fit right again even though I'm a fairly small person. I had not had a pair of Levi's in many years, but I was feeling a bit nostalgic for my old 501s and the fabric they were made from. These are just about that. They are comfy, look pretty durable and they fit pretty well. They look stylish, but I feel I can wear them cleaning house or working on other projects without worrying that they will fall apart. I purchased a pair of 550s at the same time, but in a different fabric. I could say pretty much the same thing about them. Can't decide which pair I like best, but I've come back to Levi's.

These are my absolute favorite jeans! I had gotten a pair in a store (paid full price) then saw the same available on Amazon for less! Very comfortable. I am a size 16 and have issues with some of the more "trendy" jeans being too low, too slim in the thighs, etc. These are PERFECT. They sit right below my waist and have plenty of give. True to size. The only thing is....the SHORT length is NOT petite. I am 5'4" (the upper end of petite) and they are a bit long unless I'm wearing shoes with a heel.

These levi's are very comfortable. They don't have any polyester in the fabric, so they don't irritate or annoy or itch. They fabric could be heavier, but they are great for informal purposes.

These jeans are a little off somehow. Are loose around the top. I am 5'3" they are a little long. Have to wear shoes with high heels. I miss the double stitching on the inseam that all Levi's use to have. Levi's do not have the same quality as they use to.

I am pleased with the look and fit of these jeans. They seem the best looking and most flattering jean for the price. Unfortunately, as another reviewer mentioned, the colors seem to be sized differently. The back stage blue fits great, and the blue wave is very tight. Same size, ordered the same month. I have 2 pair of the back stage blue and they are exactly the same size. Second problem is that the back stage blue isn't durable. Both pairs get runs in the denim, just like you would see in a pair of pantyhose. I have never seen this in denim before. The too-tight blue wave seems quite durable. Sigh. Good fit, good price, but comes with some problems. Still, the only jean I've found that fits this well is a lucky brand jean priced at $130. For a $100 difference, I'll try the other colors before I give up on these.
