They last and they're inexepensive September 5, 2009 Ethan A. Winning (Walnut Creek, CA) I have worn Thorlos for over 35 years and, in the last five years of wearing them, they would just wear through in the reinforced toe and ball of the foot. The heels would be the last to go, but they did, and within weeks of purchase. And at $7.85 a pair, I simply couldn't afford to continue playing racquetball (or tennis) in them. I was at a local store six months ago and noticed these Nikes for $16.00 for 6 pair. What the heck? Well, it's six months, and not one pair has worn through or run. They're not quite as comfortable initially as Thorlos, but they're much more sturdy and worth every penny. I wear them every day, although I'm careful to switch off (mark the bottom with a dot of permanent red, blue, black, or no marker).
I wear them for sports, hiking, walking and just kicking around. Again, they're quality. Why not 5 stars? They're not quite as soft as Thorlos, but maybe that's the flaw in Thorlos.
I am Happy with these socks and am ordering more July 12, 2009 J. Mcwilliams I used to wear Gold Toe crew socks from JCPenny, but they didn't last very long, the bottom of the socks would wear out very quickly. These socks are much more durable, they keep their shape, are confortable and I can not feel the seam on my toes. I wear a size 12 1/2 or 13 shoe and the socks are snug, but not too tight.
Not Acceptable June 21, 2009 Bill M (Asheville, NC) The socks are very comfortable and look nice. But the thick bottoms pill badly and collect lint, etc from the carpet, which they hold tightly in the pilled bottoms. Great the first time - but after three wearings, they are fast becoming upsightly and unacceptable.
Thin material for a crew sock June 3, 2009 Forest K. Duncan (Houston, TX USA) The product description says that this is a "Half cushion cotton crew". A more accurate description would be "BARELY cushioned" cotton crew. I need socks with good cushioning for the sole, and these definitely do not qualify. The material on the bottom of these socks is about as thick as an average crew sock, and the material on the top of the foot is quite thin. If you like thin socks and you don't need socks with well-cushioned soles, then these might be acceptable. For me, they're not going to be of much use. The one good thing that I can say about these is that the toe seams are pretty thin.
They're socks and they're comfortable. What more to say? May 30, 2009 BigRedRPB (Royal Palm Beach, FL USA) Fit well, stay up well, and are comfortable. With a size 15 foot, I could use a little bit longer sock, but these do the job and are comfortable to wear.
